I am in the beginning phases of my website design. I am trying to figure out what I want and how I want it layed out before I sit down with my designer.

I was thinking of having these tabs ---- About us, Services, Get a Quote, and Contact us. I was thinking about also having a "Blog" tab so I could update from home ( ie, job photos, upcoming specials etc.).

Any advice on how to start? Would you use generic photos or real customer photos for the main pages?

Thanks again.

Blog tab is a good idea. Updated content is a big factor in people finding your site in search. I would use real photos if possible but generic are ok as background stuff. I did my own site.. georgialawncare.com

A constant flow of relevant content does help out in a major way with your site being found. Wordpress makes life super easy when adding information on the go.
