I looked at this truck today. Man were they eager to make the sale.... last day of the year. There were a couple of things I did not like so I couldnt make the deal today as I have to give it some thought. The dump bed is only aprox 8ft (would prefer 12ft). Its an extended cab but would prefer a crew cab. They offerd it to me "today only" for $26,000.00 and a decent trade in number for my 03 ram cummins pickup. Seems like a good price but unfortunately there is no online Commercial truck Blue book I could find to even compare....

What are your thoughts??

PS. They have already coverd they hideous yellow wheels with chrome simulators.

Just my opinion. If you would want a 12 ft dump bed then get it. Im saying that because the v10 is going to drink gas a lot!! The dodge v10 gets 8mpg all the time!! I would just wait to find the one you want with the diesel.

I think I am going to stay away from a diesel this time around unless I go with an Izuzu cab forward. Seems that most of the newer diesels have just to many expensive problems to deal with. Most people have pretty good things to say about the ford v-10 reliability and power.

I paid 38k for my 08 F550 12ft dump crew cab diesel. But its 2wheel drive.

South, there are much better deals on on the 2wd dumps because they are not in high demand around here. I need a 4x4 dump so I can have a backup when it snows in the winter. BTW- how has the 6.4 treated you so far? Would you buy another?

Sorry, when a salesman gets a little too excited about selling me a car that's my sign, time to walk.

I'm not exactly sure what I would pay for that truck because I haven't looked at the market lately for these things. But for comparison 5 months ago we bought an 06 F550 XL Regular cab 2wd diesel with a 16 foot dump on it for 15,300. Oh and the miles are up there a lil (138,000) but it runs like a champ. I'd be looking at around 24ish maybe?

DBF Happy new year to all

I would consider paying that price if it was a diesel, but otherwise it is high for a gas job, you can get a new gas job for not much more than that. There is a dealer called Allegheny Ford in Pa that sells new F550 gas jobs for cheap, go on truckpaper and see what is available. I would not pay more than 20k for that truck, but thats my opinion, if it was diesel I would pay it, but would still aim around 24K, I found one in Sept same specs but diesel, with a real full metal sides rack body with an asking price of 24k in NJ. Keep looking there are a ton out there

This truck would have a better chance of being bought with no engine in it

Explain?

I actually prefer the engine it has as I have no interest in another Diesel engine. They just dont make sense like they used too.

The price on this truck is only slightly high for trucks in this area. Dump trucks really seem to hold there value around here.

I did decide against buying this truck. Going to wait for a crew cab dump with a 12ft grain body to come along.

thats a nice truck!! im a sucker for extended cabs though. benifits of a crew cab with out the disadvantages. and i think they look waaaaay better then a crew cab. make them a offer on it even if you dont really want it. offer them 18k and see what they say.

They originally had it listed at $30,000. I gave them an offer of $25,000 and they flat out said no. The lowest they were willing to come down to was $26,000.

A better truck will come along......

Get what YOU want, not what someone else is trying to get rid of. If the current owner can't produce maintenance records, I'd leave and look elsewhere.
