does look like a pretty decent truck.. To bad you've got a GN trailer, you could run the machine and truck to the job at the sametime..

Btw, how is the mustang running?

That old red Chevy would be something you would make into a trailer puller.

I'am going to look at the 03 F-550 4x4 next week I have to put a hold payment on the truck tommorow. The truck has 7.3 power with automatic which I'am not thrilled about.

After looking around at the new jobsites a 2wd isn't going to cut it anymore. Mounting a winch on the F450 isn't even a option with these places.

If your going to be spinning wheels trying to climb a steep long driveway that is asphalted you know its steep.

Alot of these places if you backed down the driveway the load of gravel on my truck would slide off the back. I only have 10 inch tall sideboards and a 8 inch tailboard on my dump deck. The gravel would slide backwards and right off the truck.

A F-550 is good for 6000lb payload with these places I will only beable to carry 4000lbs so I would have enough braking power decending the driveway.

Driveways can exceed what highway grades are these access roads are pushing 15% grade.

I went up a road today and with a empty truck and in low gear the 6.0 was about to stall. Freaking steep and there is houses built up in the area. I talked to a homeowner and they said their car freewheels down the hill.

It is a place I couldn't even think of taking a load up to. A good view from these places but it is a scary steep road.

Do they use snowcats to plow those roads or what?

The roads are not main public roads so the homeowners fend for themselves. You can't plow roads like that you can't even put road salt on them it will just roll down the hill. I would hate to go down when there is frost on the road holy crap the car would slide sideways. You would just have to step on it and go down the hill faster than it is sliding.

Safe bet is park the vehicals at the bottom of the road and walk the 1/4 kilometer back to the house.

Lucky snow isn't a common occurance on the coast of B.C. winter is over now today it was warm enough to wear a T shirt.
