Bought a plow for my scag freedom. Works great guys!
I do about 20 drives every event, nice little money maker.
Question, I want to offer salting, i dont want a tow behind dropper because im doing alot of reverse. I want a spreader that hooks on the back (motorized). Iv seen a couple out there for ztr and atvs. I need one that will throw rock salt and one that will be good for fert in the spring.
any suggestions? Also, will those type spreaders get salt and fert all over my ztr? Seems like it would since the spreaders right there. I could get a walk behind but i like getting two things done at once.
I dont mind beating my ztr up a little, after all i bought it to make money! but i dont want to kill the poor little guy either!

Where'd you get the plow?
I've been wanting one for my Z for years...

it will corrode the crap out of it, but you can prolong the inevitable by blowing the macine off after every use, and washing with alot of water will most times increase the likelihood of rusting
here is a couple to check out. http://www.gemplers.com/product.aspx?itemNo=167711&s_kwcid=TC|4086|fimco%20spreader||S||3420658015

I have not seen any Stainless steel 12v mini speaders. but you could put some sort of blocker to keep the salt off the machine. but a good rinse woudl go along way as well.

a push spreader will be cheaper, and will keep your ztr cleaner.

not in the poconos. Different areas you need to price accordingly.$500 was a rough figure for the one dude,The more snow the more I get, There all on a 2" trigger, anything over 6" and im there twice. peace

Location, Location, Location!!! 25 for him, 40 for you, and here in Erie where snow plows are everywhere...about 16-20 for an average drive.

I understand location controls price, but $16-20? Assuming no travel time and no unloading or loading time and having 10 jobs in a row, aka best case scenario. I still wouldn't do it for $20.
One raised ridge in a drive and your break a part on your plow or one pebble and your snowblower brought someone a new window. The risk to reward ratio just doesn't work for me. Besides who wouldn't pay $25 to avoid working in the cold and lifting heavy snow? Just my .02

yeah but when the hydros go out when u are half way threw your route on a wednesday, and u dont have the part on hand, and the dealer has to order them , your screwed. Why not put a plow on the truck and snag a few lots, alot more money to be had there. And if u wanna keep doing drives, an atv would be better. Not trying to criticize in any way shape or form. But we rely to much on our ztr's. Good luck and have fun, I know i do!

Many will pay $25 to avoid working in the snow, but to many hobby plows here who will plow for $10! My hourly income while plowing is great for Erie. I would rather plow than mow!! I do 98% residential and average around 3.5 customers an hour.
