I'm currently running a 2 year old t-270, i need to get another trimmer for back up purposes, and so when my helper is done mowing he can weedeat if necissary.... i knew the day i bought the t-270 that it was heavy, but i wanted to the power, and i got used to the weight....i'm wondering after using a 270 for 2 years if i were to order a t-260 if i would be disappointed in the power??
Basically if i can get a lighter trimmer that will do the job i want to do that.... the 260 is going to cost me 299.95 where as the 270 is 399.95
thanks

t-270 will take a tree down
How about a T-230? I've got 4 T-270's and a T-230. The T-230 is a lot lighter than the T-270. The T-260 is only about 1 pound lighter than the T-270. But the T-230 is about 3 pounds lighter. Shindaiwa use to have a 7 day money back guarrentee. Try the T-230, if your not happy trade it for the T-260.

i have 3-t260's loved them. Then i found t-2500 c4 technology. Light as the t-230, but more power than i need in basic lawn trimming. My dealer was selling them for 369.??.

You know what you really need?
The M- 230.
I just bought one this spring. I've got the trimmer, edger and the power broom attachments. So far and they all work great. You can also get a pruner and chain saw attachments.
I think all my future trimmer purchases will be multi purpose units.

Shindaiwa makes it.
T = trimmer
The number = size.
I got the T-260 with the 24.1cc and its not very heavy only 11.8 lbs and for the price dif between the 260 and 270 you can't go wrong, the 70 does have a little more power 3.3cc but the 260 for 100bucks cheaper kicks butt, and don't weigh even a lb more than the 230. I use the echo 2601s also but they don't have the balance that the shindaiwas have. Marks Mowing Service

I have 2 T-230's and have never felt that I was lacking in power. No complaints at all.

If you already have a 270, I would get a 260 to go along with it. Keep the 270 for the heaviest work and use the lighter 260 the rest of the time. A pound is alot to cary around all day. I just bought the new T2500 and would not reccomend it. See my thread on T2500.
