I have been doing alot of cutting this year. My question to you guys is what brand of chain do you use. Oregon seems to be popular. I dont know how to make my own. Is there a better brand of chain that stays sharper longer, and if so where can I get them? I have a 16 and 20 husky and a 14 echo.

Landscapers Supply has all sorts of Oregon bars and chains on clearance.... Should check it out, Might be worth picking up a few extras....

i have a 28 husky, an 18 echo, and two 12 echos, and it seems like its very hard to keep all of my chains sharp... every once in a while i get down into the dirt...but thats rare... i love chain sawing, one of my favorite tasks we do...

:blob3: knowhow, dirt is why your saw chains are dulling, we have a tree service and the only time you really see a chain dull quickly is if it hits the dirt. tony

no, i understand that the dirt is what is dulling them, its just hard to stay out of the dirt on certain tricky cuts, what do you use? and what is the best way people have found to give their saw a nice sharpening?

:blob3: you can try filing in between jobs, that will keep the chisel clean and sharp, tony
