View Full Version : What do you think of my name Ideas?

01-19-2010, 11:48 PM
I've come up with some new business names for next year, I might like to go with the last name idea since I'm mostly going to be servicing lawns in my neighborhood, and some of my customers might know my name already, or might be able to remember it easily since I live near them. This might also make them feel more comfortable in a way since I live right down the road.

Or.... I could go with the names that don't include a last name.

I also am not sure how I want to label myself such as SomeName Lawn Care... or SomeName Lawn & Landscape Or SomeName Lawns Maintenance. I am more into mowing lawns, but I would also like to do a lot of other things such as mulch, installing plants, maybe trimming bushes/shrubs, etc.

So Here are some of the names that I like...

Jacobís Lawn Care
Jacobís Lawn & Landscape
Jacobís Lawn Service

Clean Cut Lawn Services
Clean Cut Lawn Care
Clean Cut Lawn Service
Clean Cut Lawn & Landscape

Grenoble Lawns
Grenoble Lawn Service
Grenoble Lawn & Landscape

Cutting Edge Lawn & Landscape
Cutting Edge Lawn Care
Cutting Edge Lawn Service
Cutting Edge Lawns

Evergreen Lawn & Landscape
Evergreen Lawn Service
Evergreen Lawn Care
Evergreen Lawns

So basically Grenoble, Evergreen, Clean Cut, Jacob's, and Cutting Edge, but I would be PLEASED to have any more suggestions. :) Evergreen, Clean Cut, and Cutting Edge seem very common to me (I know there are a few in NC), so again any suggestions would be appreciated.

What do you guys think, what route should I go, Last name or none, Lawn Service, Lawn Care, Lawn & Landscape? (I think this sort of has to fit the name too though).

Thanks in advance So much for the help and opinions guys!

God be with you and all of those in Haidi, both victims and relief efforts

I would try to not use your first name and their is about 10 companies in my area using Cutting Edge

01-20-2010, 12:53 AM
yeah here in michigan I see a lot of cutting Edge and clean cut. seems like those two are to most popular.

01-20-2010, 12:01 PM
So you guys think I should go with the last name or go with a more original name (not last name).

Thanks for the replies!

01-20-2010, 12:27 PM
Every jockey out there is ... lawn & landscape, ... lawn maintenance, ... lawn care. Set yourself apart and think of something original, your company name is the first thing prospects hear about you, (usually). I'm actually going to change my name to WG Landscape Contracting, LLC. mainly because I want to improve the professional name of the company, good thing I haven't lettered my truck and trailer yet :D

01-20-2010, 12:29 PM
I would name yourself Blowhard Landscaping! hey at least it will get you noticed!!!!! just messin with ya buddy :)

01-20-2010, 01:22 PM
Lol, would get you noticed.

Any more serious thoughts about the names, which one do you guys like best?

01-20-2010, 04:50 PM
I've been toying with the idea of making my lawn mowing division called "Lawn Gnome lawn care" Like the Travelocity gnome guy? have your logo be a little lawn gnome with a pointy hat mowing a lawn or something....kinda catchy? or...."The Lawn Gnomes"

01-20-2010, 07:24 PM
Lol, that's gotta be so copywrite, lol. It would be sort of catchy though.

Any other thoughts about my names? I've sort of narrowed it down to Grenoble lawns, Grenoble lawn and Landscape, etc. Do you think Thats the right way to go?

01-20-2010, 07:37 PM
Seems like Grenoble Lawns is right for me, it seems like a establish business or something.
Never heard of some Grenoble Lawns before to so.

01-20-2010, 09:10 PM
i like grenoble lawns as well. has a very nice sound to it and very easy to speak. we have a very long name and most shorten it when they speak of us. something to think of

01-20-2010, 10:37 PM
So Grenoble Lawns, ok.

You like it better than Grenoble Lawn & Landscape, I think I do.

Thanks for the help guys, God Bless You

01-21-2010, 02:41 AM
With lawns in the name, that is limiting your services, because if a company has ... lawns, 99% of the time they do not offer landscape, irrigation, or hardscape installs, and those bring A LOT more profit than mowing. I'd highly recommend not having your name be .. lawns.

01-21-2010, 08:54 AM
What would you suggest then? I'm not going to be doing irrigation, or hardscaping, maybe some garden/plant installation, and def. mulch installation, and small jobs such as that.

I was thinking something like... Grenoble Lawns - Lawn and Landscape Maintenance

Grenoble Lawn and Landscape....

I don't know, what name do you guys think would sound the best, and describe the business the best?

Thanks for the helps so far guys, God Bless

01-21-2010, 08:58 AM
I can't really suggest anything except that .. lawn & landscape is not very original, look around on the site and you should see some good names. Your company name is you, not me.

01-21-2010, 09:12 AM
Yeah, thanks man, just don't want to make it sound like I do just lawns, then I also don't want to have a name like Grenoble Landscape Architect Design and Hardscapaing Design, that no one can understand or remember.

Maybe I should go with what this link says.

Lawn Barber, the only think we won't scalp is your wallet

Don't you just love google?

01-21-2010, 09:33 AM
I love that motto! Creative. But ya u don't want that long of a name. But give it a lot of thought

Yeah, I'm thinking about it and playing around with some logos, I'm leaning towards Grenoble Lawns-Lawn and Landscape Maint.

Grass By The Bag

01-21-2010, 12:01 PM
Lol, don't think so, I'll mess around with the logos and post something up soon.

01-21-2010, 02:48 PM
I use mine after my daughter"s Daddy Joe"s Lawn Service

Come again?

Grenoble Outdoor Services - that is pretty much a big name in general, bigger then landscape and lawn in my opinion

Grenoble Outdoor Maintenance

Grenoble Property Maintenance

Grenoble Property Management

Grenoble TOPS (Total Outdoor Property Specialist) - "We do everything outside for F*ck s*akes*"

(Just kidding on the slogan)

Hope this helps a bit!

01-21-2010, 06:48 PM
What about using "Grenoble Outdoors"? I think that sounds catchy.

01-21-2010, 09:22 PM
Thanks guys for all the ideas, Gauvreau, you've helped a lot.

I think Grenoble Outdoors sounds too much like a sporting goods store, Maybe, if I added Grenoble Outdoors-Outdoor Property Maintenance.

01-21-2010, 10:30 PM
My mom suggested "TLC Lawns" or something of the sort... It could stand for Total Lawn Care, Total Landscaping Care, etc.

She thinks it will remind everyone of tender loving care, but I don't really like the idea.

What do you guys think about it?

Again thanks and God Bless.

Come again?
I was Trying to come up with my bussiness name back in 2004. My 2 daughters said" Daddy you have 2 little girles so why don"t you call it Daddy Joe's Lawn service"

01-22-2010, 11:20 AM
Why not Grenoble Enterprises or something. Have a Lawn Care Division. Then maybe some day you'll expand into the Arbor Division or something.

01-22-2010, 12:59 PM
Yea, I just like the sound of Grenoble Lawns for some reason. That is going to be the majority of my business though... Grenoble Landscape Maintenance, not sure. I'll try to throw some logos together and post them up to see what name looks best and all.
