What magazines do you subscribe to for your lawn care businesses?
What are the subscription costs of these magazines?
Thanks for your feedback. Just curious as to which ones are the most practical for your business.

I get Turf, Lawn and Landscape, Landscape Management, Pro, Landscape and Irrigation, and I used to get Grounds but that one doesn't exist anymore. These are all free publications...I read them from time to time, and the main ones I read are Turf, Landscape Management, and Pro....Turf is actually associated with Lawnsite!

I tried to look up the websites for these magazines. Here are the free magazines for landscapers:
Turf Magazine (http://www.turfmagazine.com)
Pro Magazine (http://www.greenindustrypros.com)
Lawn & Landscape Magazine (http://www.lawnandlandscape.com)
Landscape Management Magazine (http://www.landscapemanagement.net)
Here is the website for Garden Design magazine (http://www.gardendesign.com). It looks like it is 20 dollars. Echeandia, how much do you pay for the subscription?
Are there any other landscaping magazines that you pay to receive, or are the free magazines the best ones?

All the ones that I mentioned are pretty much most of the ones that I know of...I've never been sent info or anything about any magazines that have subscription fees...I would probably get a few if there were fees. I like all the free publications, a lot of guys complain about the fact that there's a lot of ads, but thats how they keep them free, so it doesn't bother me!

What type of articles do you read/like the most in these magazines?
Have any articles in particular helped your business over the years?
Have some of the articles saved money for your business on expenses or mistakes?
Also, if anybody else has other magazines or sources for information about running their landscaping / lawn care business, I would like to hear about it too.
Thanks

I read a lot of the articles about managing a lawn and landscaping company....and I like the ones about small businesses that have grown to be be bigger and successful. I would say I definitely learned a few things from them. I love in Turf when they quote things from Lawnsite.....I've been published a few times. lol

DLawns,
Can you post some links to those articles?
I think Turf keeps all of their old articles up on the website. I would be interested in checking out your published work. Do you think articles in Turf count towards your 15 minutes of fame (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/15_minutes_of_fame)?
Thanks for the feedback...

Those are great. You had tons of quotes in the last link.
Without including your name, I don't think it counts towards your 15 minutes. You still have all of that time coming!
Did Turf Magazine pull the quotes from a general LawnSite thread or were they from a specific forum or under an announcement that says it was going to be used in the magazine?

They just pulled quotes from random threads I guess...I never saw an announcement...I was still excited even though myself and maybe a couple guys on here know thats me...haha

Lawn and Landscape, Pro, Landscape management are excellent. Many good articles in each of them one of my favorites being "the state of the industry report." Turf magazine in very well done also. It is the only one I know that does equipment reviews. That is one of my favorites to read.
