Looks commercial and very old.

It is a commercial unit. It was one of the mowers that several companies put out there to compete with the walker mowers. Bob-cat, scag, toro and I'm sure a few others made mowers like this, but none of them lasted except for the exmark version. But it is for sure a commercial mower, just not popular and wasn't out for very long.

Whats it worth? Should I buy it for the asking price?

I would try and knock a little off the asking price. I can't say for sure how much it's worth but it appears to be in pretty good shape, at least from the look of it.

No.

First the guy says it's in excellent condition when it's hardly in fair shape and I don't care
what anyone says but if he wants to sell it then he should have educated himself.
Excellent condition means almost brand spanking new (like bling bling new), so it should be in almost showroom condition...

Then the whole garage looks to be full of Toros, so he's either using those commercially himself OR ...
What I suspect is that he's one of those folks who likes to go to Gov't auctions and fix up what he can for resale.
Either of those wouldn't be so bad but it appears as if the guy doesn't really know a whole lot about the stuff he's selling.

Why, because I can't even find a model 325 except for Groundsmasters and they look nothing like that thing,
then he talks about the hours and puts up a picture of an hour meter that I can't read...
And maybe I'm not up to my stuff 100% either but I'm done before I get to strike 3.

Unless you really have to have a mower but I think you could get a really nice Wb for that kind of money instead.

Stay away it is a piece of junk. I owned one in 1999 380hrs is when all the problems start. I didn't notice the year but around 1998 99 Kohler came out with an engine that was junk none of them exceeded 400 hrs. They cut like crap every time you hit a bump they leave swirles where the blades gouge into the lawn. I would stay far away. Notice how hard they are to work on to.
A royal pain.

If I recall it will have the 25hp Kohler. Also when the hopper fills up with grass it won't dump, Toro has a lip on the inside so you have to pull the grass out most of the time. Mine sat brand new in my shop for 2 years before I found someone who would take it on trade. I lucked out trading it off because every dealer new about these and the problems. Offer $500 if you can't resist, but it does not compare with a Walker at all period.

I only got him down to $1800 and i still had to drive 5 hours to pick it up. Not to mention I heard the grass catcher is a problem in these mowers as well. I searched for hours looking for this mower and I couldn't find the model anywhere. I think i'm going to pass I found a toro Z-master for $1200 with 1800 hours a 2006 in legit mint condition. i think i might go for that

You did the right thing. They were so bad Toro would not even take them back on trade after 2 yrs of sitting in my garage. Toro screwed me and a bunch of others in 99. I won't even consider a Toro again.

The guy was trying to tell me the mower was a 2003. Yeah I defiantly did a good thing not buying it.

What is your opinion on this 2006 z-master that I mentioned above.

Yea, I'd say stay away from mowers that imitate the Walker. Its just as east to get the real thing.

1800 hours is a far cry from mint condition

I looked at one back in 2005 and the dealer had one that was 2 years old on the lot but it was still brand new, I wonder if he ever sold it!
