They explain that a guys perceived self-worth increases in direct proportion to the number of internal combustion chambers under his or her control.

Since we are all in control of many cylinders as lawn care operators, I thought you may all be interested to count your cylinders.

Only working equipment is to be counted.

My index formula is as follows:

That's 15, my age. Then I have about 1/2 dozen parts weedeaters and about 1/2 dozen parts engines. So total cylinder index (running and not) is about 27 or so. Then if you count Dad's boat, you will get 2 more cylinders, if you count our cars you get the van=8, car=4, car=6. And on a weekly basis I also use a friend's garden tractor=2 and Lawnboy=1 and weedeater=1. This makes the total count to about 60 cylinders!
But that's not hardly fair...... so make it about 19 that run that I use regularly.

Wow I'm have an index value of a Chevy V-8 engine. I'm sure glad this isn't related to age!:eek: Just remember that I run a repair shop and manage the equipment fleet for 9 different work units that mowing about 1500 acres a week, sweep, renovate, repair playground equipment, repair irrigation systems, repair pools/fountains, maintain trees, ball field maintanence, pesticide application, run support services(portable staging, chairs, etc.), and other tasks.
