Going to hopefully buy a shop this year, going to look at a place on saterday 10 acres, 2 pole barns, and a house, 7 tillable (maybe green house or stock), going to be adding another 48" scag, not sure if i want to go vpro or there new v ride i still need to go check them out. and last but not least a larger trailer to haul the mowers thinking 20' enclosed but we will see what the bank says. if we buy the place we are looking at i will settle for a open trailer to keep costs down.

Maybe his CPA doesn't think he "wasting money".

I get rid of perfectly good equipment also, can get top dollar when it's in top shape, and then write off the new equipment, so you're almost always using newer, reliable stuff, getting write offs, and a few bucks cash from the old stuff. Win/ WIn.

My list this year, 2009-10 GMC HD Diesel, 8x16 enclosed trailer, 52" ZTR ( to replace the POS I returned ), already got my new 36", so I need to sell my older 36" (gasp!)

Just picked up a mint condition JD tractor with rear PTO, front and hydro fittings for attacments, power steering, and power deck up/down for next to nothing. I needed a new trimmer last year and can't believe it made another season so I'll get a trimmer. Maybe pull the flatbed off the Dodge and do a dump body. Maybe a small manlift for tree work and a new pro series chainsaw with more power than most economy cars.

After researching all last summer, and agonizing this fall over whether or not to go with a Wright ZK and take advantage of their super seasonal discount program, I finally decided to get a 2010 Toro G3 this spring.

In the end, the bounciness and poor cut of the Wright caused me to "just say no", and go with a sitter ZTR. Good dealer support and great handling and hill performance brought me to settle on the Toro. I sacrificed a bit of cut performance in heavy grass by not going scag, but the sports car type of handling more than makes up for it. Gotta be on this thing hours a day, might as well enjoy myself. Hill performance between the turf tiger and the G3 were similar,,, both outstanding.

Now just need to decide on which engine. They just introduced a Kohler EFI 29hp. Have to decide between it and the Kaw 29. I'll start a new thread soliciting reviews and opinions just before I buy. Hopefully some here will have had a chance to get their hands on the new Kohler by then. Our cutting season begins late here in the mountains.

Not much for me in the spring other than adding more accts. Maybe some more items for the truck. Probably look into an enclosed late summer, but maybe not. Hopefully a bobcat 753 by late fall though.

Well, my trailer is falling apart so that has actually been something I've known would be coming. The mower, if you look at it from a financial stand point I am probably wasting money but when I look at it from my stand point it is the right decision. Any way you look at it, I'm losing money on that decision. And the truck situation is more of a personal desision, I need something that is just an all around better truck for me. My current truck is a great work truck, but not such a great personal truck and since I use it as a work and personal truck I need something that fits my needs better. I make money so I can spend money, thats what everyone does....they make money and then spend it on something.

Hmmmm, a 20' PJ Trailer, probably red. Two, maybe three used Ferris WB's, another 48" and two 33". Two 21" Honda self propelled. Four grass gobblers. Three BR 6's. Three KM 250's. Three prolockers, extreme 3 greentouch rack, three blower racks and a mint 86' red F350 dually. All depending on my plowing of a commercial property. And so far, it's looking real good.

I am acquiring new customers, 4 already, and an excellent potential for around 25-30 more, so in addition to the ZTR I already have, I need to expand with a 36" hydro WB (new or used, probably a Bobcat) and maybe a new commercial 21", or I may pick up a used, small deck ZTR to take care of some of the smaller yards.

A friend went out of business so he has passed my name to his customer base and I will be having help from both a son and son-in-law since this would seriously overload my current solo operation.

Already made changes to the trailer and it's in excellent shape with new Extreme racks, a cage on the front and a 6 ft ramp in the back. Also picked up a new Husky backpack blower.

Gettin' honey do's done in the house, new signs painted, new business cards, etc., prepared so I'm ready to hit the ground runnin' when the grass starts growin'!! :):)

New ztr. Either the kubota ZD326 with a 60" deck or a toro Z580-D with the 25 hp kubota diesel and a 60" deck. Gotta have the kubota diesel engine, but which mower I get will probably depend on what dealer gets me a better deal. I like both mowers and both deals, so we shall see!

Well I have found a great buy on a 36" Hydro walk behind.(If I decide to buy it) I tried to put it on my trailer and it would barely fit. So I also have been looking at 16 & 18 ft. trailers. So its up in the air right now. Got the big snow coming tonight and tomorrow. Supposed to get 8 to 12 inches. I guess I'll sit next to the fire and see if I can decide on what to do. :dizzy:

-Handheld blower- Stihl. Maybe 2...
-New 21", I'm going to try to hold out to see the new John Deere model, if not that a Toro hi vac bagger.
-Possibly a new 32 to 36 inch walk behind. My troybilt that I love so much is having transmission problems... I have a 36" walker but so often it's too wet in the areas I want to use it and it tears things up.
-add onto/rebuild my trailer gate. Expanded metal is breaking loose and it's too short.
- possibly a carrier rack for my permagreen so I can set up my Dodge to be my fertilizing/spraying truck and not have to mess with the small trailer.
- Picking up my New Grasshopper 329B in march.

Now the big stuff I'll be getting a sister to the truck I got last spring. A Black Ram slt 4500 4x4 crew cab. With the Chrome Tubular Side Steps and the 19.5-Inch x 6.0-Inch Forged Aluminum rims. With a 9 foot platform dump with a triple window 42 inch bulkhead and 14 inch contractor sides with a 4-way tailgate and 6 inch board pockets on the sides. Just bought a new 52" Grandstand. Will buy the leaf plow in the fall. Getting an Accelerator bagger for it. New Kawasaki Back Pack Blower. A walkbehind edger. Getting an OCDC for the 2011 Ferris ZTR. yeah 1/2 inch drive. it was $84.95 on sale. normal price is $99.99. i already have 4 of the 19.2v batteries and 2 chargers since i have the craftsman C3 drill and hedge trimmers already. they make like 30 different things that all use those same batteries which is a great thing. you can also buy lithium-ion batteries 19.2v now but they cost alot more than the ni-cad batteries.

I was just a little curious on the price versus longevity/power. I have a $500 Snap On 18V cordless impact 1/2 in drive. That tool is easily my best purchase ever. It'll keep up with every 1/2 in drive air gun I've used, and even outperforms the cheaper air models.

Hopefully the Craftsman works...if you're only going to be using to change blades once a week or whatever, it should last a long time.

Probably getting a 60" JRCO rake for the toro and hopefully I can find a used bagging system for the toro 286E that is reasonable in price. If not I will stay with the Walker exclusively for spring cleans but I have a couple months yet.

Just out Of curiosity Jason, why such a pricey sharpener and not something more basic and it is only you, not a fleet of mowers? Just want it, bc I can understand that to

well i was originally wanting the oregon sharpener that was $300 but after researching the magna-matic works alot better. it is about $500 which is a high price for sure. it will be a while before i buy it. that balancer thing is like $150 so that's high too. i dunno why this junk is so expensive. i would get something cheaper if it was good quality and worked just as good but nothing does. i'll probably stick with the hand wheel grinder like i have been doing for a good while. i know i'm small and solo but i just like quality stuff and quality stuff is almost always expensive.

I was just a little curious on the price versus longevity/power. I have a $500 Snap On 18V cordless impact 1/2 in drive. That tool is easily my best purchase ever. It'll keep up with every 1/2 in drive air gun I've used, and even outperforms the cheaper air models.

Hopefully the Craftsman works...if you're only going to be using to change blades once a week or whatever, it should last a long time.

yeah i'm sure the snap-on is much better. there is a dewalt 18v that has 300 lb ft of torque and it was over $300. the craftsman is 200 lb ft of torque which should be plenty for blades. the main reason i got it is because i already have batteries that fit it and it was alot cheaper as well. it will remove and install car/truck lug nuts so i figure it's good enough for mower blades.

well after thinking about it a bit i might go with this sharpener instead. it's only $200. maybe i can get the magna-matic 9000 later on down the road.

AS of right now there is nothing i plane on buying but gasoline.

If a good deal comes along on a Wright Stand-on or a Run-behind it could find its way here.

18v nickle metal hydrate 3 amp battery has done me well. The 3 amp batters is a much better battery that the 1.5. In power and in duty cycle.

Bought a new Shindy trimmer from a guy here on L/S last month; no, they weren't stolen and yes they were new. All the negitive detractors that questioned the poor seller lost out. Just bought a new 52" Grandstand. Will buy the leaf plow in the fall. Getting an Accelerator bagger for it. New Kawasaki Back Pack Blower. A walkbehind edger. Getting an OCDC for the 2011 Ferris ZTR. More racks for the trailer. Getting the truck lettered and company shirts, I think that's it. Should be a good year.

I have a JRCO leaf plow I will sell
