Switching trimmer heads

I am trying to put a automatic Maruyama trimmer head on a Echo 260. Has anyone tried this before?

Your post said that you were trying to install the head. What problems have you faced? Is it the right threads? Does it not fit? If it doesn't go on easily I wouldn't force anything. Does the new head have to rotate a certain direction? Is it the same direction as your trimmer?

Is there any pssible way to reverse the direction of a head? Got a john deere 265. I was used to my cheapo Ryobi which spun clockwise and I hate to admit it but I miss it spinning that way.

I think all major trimmer companies should make a clock and counter clockwise gearbox option. Seem like the only ones that turn clockwise are bent shaft models.
