I do gutter cleaning and it makes a great add on service. Not the funnest work, but you can make very decent money at it. Spring/Fall. I do a number of my regular clients gutters. Mowing is good, add-ons make the money.

thanks for the reply. as i'm getting a little older, well 51. i was thinking about offering to put gutter guards on the gutters so i could just blow the roof off, it would be much more easy and take less time so i could do other work, and yet make money on the initial cost of installation. here in the fall most times when the leaves finaly fall the moisture that is in the gutters freezes everything in them, then un able to clean properly, when you clean the gutters do you charge more for multi level then single level?

Yes nearly double the charge for second story. LOTS more up and down more risk and such.
Now there are tools that help in making it so you don't have to go up and down ladders (some pressure nozzles and such). But I always seem to be on ladder inspecting and such so charge is still higher for second story. Never really had anyone question this though, so I keep doing it.
I will add though that I hate the ladder work hence the higher price for the higher I go.
I have never installed gutter guards, but I will say that many are either not installed / maintained properly. I find some stuffed full of junk and nearly impossible to clean out. There are some (not sure brand wise) that are very effective.
Wish I knew more to help you out, but my knowledge is limited to just cleaning them.
But again finding a good safe system for cleaning them and you can make sone nice income.

depending on the slope, i'll just clean them from the roof and not go up and down the ladder, i just now started looking to see what is out there.

I do the same (depending on the slope) just still charge more based upon risk.

first question I ask when someone calls for gutter cleaning is if they have some sort of gutter guard system. If so, I won't take the job unless I can take the guards off and they STAY off. When I have someone question that, I simply reply that if the guards were doing what they claim to do they wouldn't be calling me. I had a customer last year that didn't understand this but when he called this year I realized I was right. He paid me extra to take the guards off (aluminum screens) and haul them away. Did I mention they were aluminum?
