As some of you have noticed im looking for a truck for a maintenance crew. I had it narrowed down and almost went and got the chevy i posted a couple days ago. But after hearing all the negatives about fuel economy, i just dont think i want to go that route. What would you rather have?

2005 Chevy reg cab LB 6.0 2wd, with i think it was 85k miles? $9k

2004 F-150 5.4 2wd SC SB with 75k miles? $7500

Or 2000 F-250 SC LB 4x4 powerstroke with 145k miles. $7500-8500ish

All white, and all auto's.

I know its a wide variety but this is what ive narrowed it down to..

Thanks!

I'd go with a 2wd powerstroke. Your guys don't need 4x4 price is good too.

To get any fuel economy you will have to tell your employees if they have a lead foot the fuel costs comes off their wages

Buying a diesel could end up costing you more in maintenance or problems when the truck gets filled up with gas and wipes out the injectors.

Yeh i worry about how employees will treat the diesel..They usually dont think about what theyre doing to the truck. And ill have huge stickers everywhere, that says DIESEL ONLY!! Lets hear some more opinions.

Personally I'd rather work out of the 7.3 powerstroke 2000 f250...

Towing with a 7.3 kicks arse.

Yeh the truck is awesome. Tows with ease, and has been very reliable. This is the powerstroke for those who havent seen it:

ya...get that.

mileage on both gassers will suffer towing, as you know.

and the 150 is a short bed.

There is no question in my mind...unless the oasis report is jacked up.

Nope, only had two small oil leaks fixed at 62k miles and 89k miles. Since then pretty problem free. Its had front end issues from spending some time in alaska, but thats hopefully getting corrected soon.

Powerstroke buddy! Employees will drive any truck you own harshly, the powerstroke can probably put up with it the best. My second choice would be the chevy reg cab, looked real clean!
