Company Ranking

I was wondering how you find what the size of your company is ranked. For instance you hear brickman say they are number two in the country or whatever they claim to be. Is there anyway to find out how you rank in the state and what they base it off of?

I think those rankings are based on those companies who either voluntarily or are required to publish financial reports.

According to the US Census Bureau in 2006 there were 89,056 Landscaping Service Firms in the US. Four thousand six hundred thirty one of them had 20 or more employees. I am assuming that there is a correlation between the number of employees and revenue and therefore, the companies with 20 or more employees are ranked above 4,361. My guess is that you are somewhere between 4,361 and 89,056.

It's not best it's largest. You can be the smallest and still be the best.:usflag:

I dont care about being the biggest but I do like to compare. I would say that number has drastically decreased since 2006. I have twenty plus employees, so I guess that puts us in the top 4000. haha
