i think it is pretty good. on line scheduling? wow. hwo does that work for you. does it cost the customer extra. i ask as we dont work this way, we schedule for tight routes and that is why we make good money.

It's not as great as it sounds but it's better than nothing I guess.
All we do is put there account number on a calendar along with everyone elses account number. So, if they say you didn't show up or are we scheduled for so and so day we can say yes it is posted online.
I was going to create log-ins for everyone and stuff but it GRASS :).
We don't want to mess with it.

Jason I like it, and also like having the 25 on it.. Just be careful the lower the advertised minimum the "worse" the customers get.. IE paying etc

Yeah here it is kinda up in the air. Prices are anywhere from $20 to $30 for yards. I try to stay in the middle.

There is a difference sorda. I just don't like saying Mowing, Edging, Trimming, Blowing. I change blowing to clean-up. In that I mean we pick up sticks and and trash in the yard. (minor trash) Then we blow and clean the grass of the side walks etc.

I guess I should give a plug to gotprint.com. They are the one that did the flyer.

Yup no problem from what I'm reading it reads as though prices start at 25.. Which could lend to some confusion, if you actually go lower and it's not advertised you could be missing out on the 20 dollar lawns.. If people call you as advertised for 25 and you say I can do it for 20 then you could just be losing money also.
I ran a very successful sign"s" in a very large particular neighborhood basically saying 35dollars or less any lawn. I almost doubled my business in there. I like putting prices right out front for people to see, as your doing. Just as an aside something I've noticed is that most neighborhoods follow a particular yard pattern size say, there mostly all .25 acres, or .40 acres or half acres. This allows a neighboorhood to be priced very effectively. The goal of course is to get into a neighborhood and take over, clusters are where it's at mowing wise..

You didn't have these printed yet, did you? i would DEFinitely make some changes on it. This same type discussion has been addressed before - and I have addressed many issues having to do with this. It is Marketing 101. you have to OFFER something. basically, yuo have what is referred to as a "So what" card. I basically says "Here I am,....Here's what I do" - which leads the potential customer to say "So what"...What's in it for me... You are a lawn service, and you offer mowing, trimming, and two different types of cleanup."
But what you NEED is something unique...Something that is going to set YOURself apart from the rest. Where's the incentive? WHY should I go with YOU? What's in it for me? This matches the other 19 flyers I got this spring. See where I'm getting at?
Any special offers? Any discounts for mentioning this flyer? You have to GIVE the customer something...Something to lure them in. You have to GIVE them something,....(whether it be discounted price, service, etc.). Now, mind you, the "free" offer really isn't free at all. It all has to do with the marketing. Do some search, and look under some of my posts using words like "free", or "incentive", and "market" and "marketing".
This material is also covered extensively early in my book...Chapter 4, I believe.

Well we talked about this a lot. What we do or I do really is collect flyers every year and see what others are doing.
What I have noticed is that most of the flyers that go around get straight to the point. Lawn Service $25. Some are just cards.
I collect about 40 flyers from different companies in a 3 month period. During the winter we look at there websites, services, coverage area and then look at what the market is doing and decide what we are going to do for the next year.
We have been using door hangers and just flyers for the past 4 years. We have a lot of info on our flyers but I can not put that much on this 4x6 postard. Therefore we just decided to keep it simple and plain.
When our customers call they just want someone to mow the lawn. So, we are just taking a simple approach on this one. We also still have about 8,000 left from last year in door hangers that we will put out.
But I do agree that a flyer should pop as I call it. When they have 5 flyers on the door you want them to call you. But you should see some of the flyers that go around. Ours looks brilliant.
I should post all the flyers that I have and just take out the business info. It's amazing what some people will put on a door.

Also I do not do free or advertise any type of discount on my flyers. We did this for about 2 years and it never made a difference. If anything it was a negative. If anyone did call for service they were only calling because they wanted a discount or whatever was offered on the flyer. Those customers 90% of the time were picky and just plain hard to work with. We just decided to do away with it.
Also when we did have that advertisement a lot of people didn't even mention it. They didn't mention it then I didn't mess with it.
