Moving furniture, picking up toys, and anything else that keeps us from doing our job.

Personally would have to say attending their Funerals. I always pay my respects to a long time friend and customer. Might lose one a year. Some funerals have been very difficult for me. Most customers have been with me for over seven to ten years.

Guys, not as disrespect but what good is discussing what we hate to do? The more you talk about hating it the worse it gets. The more one hears what others hate the more they will hate it also. I have never used the word hate this many times in ages. I used to dislike Leaf cleanups and shrub trimming. I changed my mind set. Decided to begin to program staff to anticipate and welcome both. I even brain washed my self. Give me a nice day and a tool and I am out the door "loaded for bear". I love to trim shrubs!
You know what I did not like: A recent miss dignosis of new extreme allergies as Cronic Ashma. Nearly switched jobs and all.
Used to get fairly sick every month. No problems now for 7 months. I am putting my talents happily to work again!
Above health condition was a real career wake up call after I got proper treatment. My passion for maintaning homes would be long gone.
Heard a statement once about whether we choose to use the words "get to do something" or "gotta do something" has a major impact on our thinking.
Glass is half empty? Glass is half full! Some people just Know when to leave or they will be doing the dishes!

Nobody wants to pay what it is worth to pull weeds around here, so we don't do it.
But, we hate moving lawn furniture, any stuff in the yard in our way and citrus fruit, especially!!!!

Maybe it's because I'm a woman, but I don't mind pulling weeds. It's easy $$$ as far as I'm concerned.
The worst is clearing heavy weeds with the trimmer. You will always leave covered with weed & grass juice, and you never know how many snakes and other critters you will run into.

I HATE hedges. The worst part is that we have to do them, at least it seems that way. For every hedge job we do we end up with a lot of other work for the owners and usually leads to grass cutting which is what we love to do. I would love to find an old guy who likes to do them and we woudl give him the jobs.

I don't mind pulling weeds or trimming hedges. The task that I really cannot stand to is having to move hoses out my way that just pisses me off to no end when a hose is strung across the yard.

Lately for me it's blowing off the property with a backpack blower. Why you ask???? because it seems that as soon as I get it started and blow off 10' of walk, the customer comes running out and wants to shoot the breeze! I'm ready to rig up an electric starter! :D

planting anything, especially trees. I will rarely actually dig it myself. That is one of the nice things about having employees, if you don't like to do it have them do it.
how about trying to blow when the wind is not cooperating.
I don't mind pulling weeds and we get $35 per hour for it just like everything else.

Most diffently hedges it pays well but also to easy to screw up. I normally work by myself, but when i have hedge jobs I try to schedule them for an off day. Then I hire my brother to trim them, and I just follow behind him with the blower/vac. Seems to work out the best and then if they get screwed up I have him to blam!

"Temporarily" trimming around a damaged area of a lawn like a truck rut. If I do it good enough it's going to be "temporary" forever.

Call me crazy, but stopping for the day. Even after several years of doing this full time, I sill LOVE what I do. There are days I'd wished I'd never got out of bed (like yesterday, 2 flat tires in the truck, and one on the trailer after hitting a piece of metal on the road). But hey, you take what life throws at ya'.

I love all the tasks themselves, but I hate doing any task that is a poor practice or detrimental to the landscape just because the client request it. For example, mowing at 1" in July! I hate to have people think that I do bad work, but in general I do what they want after I tell them why they shouldn't.

Mine also is chasing down money that is owed to me,seems like i spend about 8 hrs a week doing this. But before y'all start it is my fault for not getting it when the work is finished. The problem we have is a lot of times customer is not home etc. and i'm trying to get to next one lol:blob2:

Hate ripping up sod for new mulch beds.
1) Trying to sell services to tightwads who had gotten used to the next door neighbor doing things for them ...for free....like hedge & bush trimming.
2) Reminding clients that they are getting overdue on their payments. Yes, I bill them...but some are VERY SLOW about paying.
3) Picking up the hose (and other junk) again, and again, and again...why don't they get a clue???
Oh well, who's complaining? Things could be a lot worse. :D

For me the thing I hate doing most is getting to their properties! I live in an area with a lot of old dead end streets with no turn arounds at the end so driving(or trying to back down) them with my 1 ton dump and 20ft. enclosed trailer and maneuvering around parked cars while fighting their neighbor's trying to go to work almost makes me want to give up the contract's.
