Well, I spent the evening watching the Westminster Dog Show and I started thinkin' (I know, that can be dangerous LOL) about most of us involved in construction have a four-legged best pal. So I thought why not show our best-in-show.

And here's mine. Her name is Caleigh and she goes almost everywhere with me!

I'm looking forward to seein' everybody's entry!!

Scooby, a rescued dog dumped as an 8 week old pup. He's such a buddy, I find myself talking to him almost expecting him to reply. He goes everywhere with me.

appropriately named "Yellow Dog".

Yellow Dog was a rescue from the pound. He was on death row because the city only has a 3 day stay before gassing the strays. He was found wandering the highway but nobody could let him die and he got moved out by a volunteer and I met him.. Obviously lost but nobody claimed him or asked the pound about him. Been a good, loving, and loyal dog to my family. I use his picture on my website too.

Here he just got out of the water and is "smoking" his rawhide chip.

Here is my 6 year old black lab,Nico.A year and a half ago she had a freak accident while playing with her ball and twisted her back legs and tore both of her ACL's.Needless to say $6000 dollars later(sigh)with plates and screws holding both legs together,She is a brand new pup.It took a total of 31 weeks for her to fully recover...10 of those weeks was with me holding her back half up with a pillow case wrapped around her hips so she could go outside and go to the bathroom. It's amazing what people will do for their animals. Here she is after the sugery...

Lots of good looking Quad-Ra-Peds so far. It's interesting to hear about the rescued dogs and how good they are. My first dog was a throw away mix German Shepard/Black Lab and was awesome. Sputnik has been a handful and it getting better.

Heres the best pic i have on my laptop. The one mauling my little brother and the older dog is Butch. He is about 10 months old in that pic and 95lbs, he is now working on 110lbs. The other one is Duke.my pointing lab who turned 10 this summer.

177826

I wish i had a pic of when Butch was 10 weeks old, his feet and head were even more disproportionate than now. That earned him the nickname of beardog and him being able gain on quarter horses in less than 1000', the yellow blur. Duke is my favorite dog. He has 3 things he really likes human contact, killing things, and eating food, in that order no less. He is also the only dog i've ever seen sit up in a rocking chair and survey he surroundings, waiting for something exciting to happen. I know my sister has at least a couple better pics, so i'll post again later.

Funny story. Butch's head is so big he will lay it down on anything given the chance. He is also the only dog i've every seen sit down in the back of moving truck. Last week he laid his head down on the AL toolbox and froze his cheek to it on the short drive to the other end of the ranch. Half a gallon of slobber later he freed himself.

The chocolate is Moe. His full name is Sweet Grassroots Moe Joe. He's a pretty good duck dog, doesnt like to sit still though.. Everything else has came easy to him though. He is double registered and a show champion.

The yellow lab is storm. Full name is Sweet Grassroots perfect storm. He is Moe's cousin, isnt much of anything other than a pet. He couldnt show worth a crap because of his coat and he's just to blonde to retrieve. His attention span runs out half way to the duck so he ends up bring you a stick or some crap back, if your lucky.

I am in the process of trying to get my own deer dogs, Dad isnt liking the idea though..

Junior - you were talking about deer dogs - below are two of the best deer dogs we've ever owned. The first is BJ, she was a black lab mix. She would track a wounded deer it seemed like forever. Dad shot one on our lease we had near the Mexican border and she tracked the deer for about 4 or 5 miles. Once she would find the wounded deer she would just sit and bark until we caught up to her. She was the best. The second pic is of Misty, a blue lacy cow dog. She was also a good deer dog. The third pic is a deer she tracked that my nephew had shot.

Caleigh, my yellow lab, will track deer but when she finds them she doesn't do anything except sit on her haunchs - doesn't bark, doesn't do nothing.

The last two shots are of Maggie, a mini red dachshund. She would also track deer, and anything else you wanted her to. Bad thing about her was she go places humans couldn't. It was hard to follow her.

We have a total of 6 dogs, all strays. We had 7 till a couple months ago, may she rest in peace. Heres my favorite of our dogs. I call him balls, you can probably guess why. This dog is ridiculous he can jump from the ground clean through a truck window, climb trees, open doors, and he has some pretty odd ways of sleeping:laugh:, definitely the smartest door I have seen.
Thats definitely not a John Deere pillow he is laying onhttp://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk178/farmboy1285/Picture010.jpg

I dont mean tracking, I prefer to drop the deer where they stand..

I want deer dogs, to run deer. Its a long time style of hunting many people are trying to get banned. Its only legal in 6 states and its been banned in quite a few counties here in SC.

Here is a couple pictures of our Akitas. I love these dogs.

I had an employee that had a Akita and his 13 yr old daughter and her friend were camping out in the back yard and they decided to go back to the house some time during the night and his Akita attacked his daughter and chewed her scalp off the top of her head before he came out and shot the dog. This dog grew up with this little girl sleeping on her bed. The friend had to climb a pillar on the porch to get away from the dog.

My dog hates anything over -5 degrees. I found her up in the arctic circle wondering around, she was stray. Now she resides with me in the Pacific Northwest. She's full grown and under 50 pounds, like a little wolf.
