The internet can actually be pretty lonely place if you don't know where to go and how to use it.

I'm curious what other websites you guys visit daily, and how often do you use the net ( Boots we all know your a robot and you are on 24/7 so you don't need to answer that)

I'm a total technology guy.

My daily sites are (excluding the www. and .com) Lawnsite, Cnet, Cnet technology, Cnn , Cnn technology, engagdet, computing.net, ubuntuforums.net, geek, My bank online, Facebook, Myspace, undergroundweather, sciencedaily and sometimes my local news q13fox.com.

About once a month i'll hit up youtube and newegg.com

Through out the day, if i'm near a computer. If I have any question I usually just wikipedia/ google it

I've been fascinated with technology my whole life. If it wasn't for me not wanting to be a huge fat kid geek when I was younger.. I would still completely be involved in the computer world and just program all day. With technology advancing so fast I'm eager and excited to know what it is going to be like in 15/30 years from now. Think how fast we have advanced in just 25 years..

mitch,

i'm just learning to use the computer, i've never owned a tv so i don't miss that.

as far as daily views here goes, lawnsite, cablevine, leaktools, lost in technology, ag alert, ippca, a couple times a week cave and mountaiin rescue and ebay for pricing, trade tecnology with equip, concrete, pool and spa, aqua mag., pipeline and trench safety, couple times a month some of fimco's suggested sites, everest basecamp, usgha/paragliding, whitewater rescue, climbing and roc and ice, and pbr and prca to check on the standings.

if i'm woking at home [ lot of that last year ] i leave the computer on 1 site or another and stop to look at posts every so often, i really do a lot of work realated searches

To be anti-contributory...nothing. I can barely hold down the home front. No, time for extra curricular activity so I spend a few moments on lawnsite.

I used to frequent a few other landscape sites and plumbing sites (as a matter of fact I saw boots there too, obviously loves to mud plumb). Didn't have time to commit. I appreciate the irrigation forum and lawnsite's flexibility with our inability to stay the course.

Oh ya. I don't get any TV reception at the house. Never have. Kids watch videos if I am in the mood. Once my brother was going to do the "turn off the TV week" campaign from his local school. He asked me what we do with the time we don't watch TV, I said I don't have time to watch TV and wouldn't know.

Lawnsite, a blackberry forum, NJ.com, alan's sepinwall's blog (TV critic... i watch a lot of TV, thanks to the DVR), facebook, espn, NOAA, Hulu, cinema blend (a good friend of mine writes for them), and what ever else comes to mind goes to google or wikipedia.

Drudge Report, Wall Street journal, ESPN
Then I do a lot of searches on topics that interest me.

Wikipedia is good for the way you can open a few more pages on related items, and pursue knowledge. Readers of the funny pages have websites to check in with.

Do a puzzle or three. Keep the brain cells in shape. I'm a sudoku fan.

My MacBook comes with Google built-in, so that's handy. I have book-marked: Lawnsite( Irrigation only), a desert wildflower site, a forest service fall color site, a national highway road condition site, a NWS national weather site, the Airstream owner's site and a trivia site that I find neat: refdesk.com

i visit macnn.com a bit, cnet, bbcnews, and a message board back from my college days... other than that I'm a weather guy.
btw I've started a blog on our website "adventures in landscaping" I figured I'm taking pictures anyways so whynot. if anyone wants to RSS or whatnot here's a link: brandon's blog (http://www.tomscreeknursery.com/Toms_Creek_Nursery_%26_Landscaping/Blog/Blog.html)

by theway the latest on (i just posted them all, but recent by date) is on this beauty... which of course the state had installed, by someone else and didn't even invite us to bid though we're like 30 min away... probably had a big shot out of raleigh do it because we're all incompetent hicks in this area

Just bookmarked your blog..

I guess I should have asked what your daily website was all about.. I'm going to visit a few and see what they are all about

Jim,
I can't believe you have never had a TV. I usually watch at least 1 western movie a week because they are for the most part very good.
You remind me a of an old school western guy with high morals and respect for everyone.

If I was living by myself.. I could go with out tv and the internet.. I know I could.. But I have the availability and option.. so why not!

FB, craigslist, msnbc, aol, yahoo, firehouse.com, ford-trucks.com, dieselstop.com, youtube, that's about all. I prefer visiting sites that are updated/changed daily.
Fimco has a great site but I see he has taken it off his signature.

firehouse.com.
I think I may have screwed myself.. I didn't know this site was so main stream. I posted a thread on this site about a week ago with some questions regarding my fire.. After I posted.. everyone basically said I shouldn't post anymore due to the fact that many fire marshals visit this site

i've never owned a tv, been around a few and even watch it on occasion. i do however have a computer that i watch movies and tv shows on.

when i was younger i was more involved in doing than in watching.

i spent 10 yrs riding bulls and a few bucking horses in my youth and my son rode broncs and bulls in high school on into adulthood..... base jumping, skydiving, climbing, hang and paragliding, caving and kayaking and ski mountaineering pretty much leaves little time to watch tv.

life has been one hell of a ride

mitch,

if you think about it i also do a lot of my own brand of research in the locating and leak detection fields.

how do you think i come up with some of the statments i make concerning TDR's and resistance measurements ect. i don't make em up so i gotta test em.

couldn't do this stuff if i watched much tv

hope you didn't screw yourself on the fire site, i really don't think you did though.

btw, do you have an A frame for the 9890?

i call BS on that kiril, i've been lucky and fell into a crowd of great people. the few that are left are more like me, slowing down some, the others i miss dearly.

recently a friend told me that she had 200 friends on facebook, i told her that i had 5 on lawnsite and wouldn't trade the world for them. you guys are great............:)

Well, there are a lot of things I have always wanted to do (including some of the stuff you listed) ... but there never seems to be a good time to do it.

For example, I wanted to take 6 months to hike part of the PCT .... unfortunately it never happened, and at this point, probably never will. Always wanted to hang glide as well and have tinkered with the idea of base jumping.

I did do some sea kayaking way up north of VC Island in the early 90's that was a blast. Met a guy about Pete's age while I was up there that was doing a sea kayak trip from CA to AK ... talk about one tough character. :dizzy:

Oh well .... my best days are behind me with respect to adverture .... it is a downhill road from here.

kiril

you might not see the top again but i doubt you're totally over the hill

i was raised around people i thought were bigger than life and i admired them, wanted to be bigger than life myself....life is life, my youth was spent in search of adventure, i have settled for the small, weekend warrior trips alone or with a select few people that have blessed me with their friendship. when i pass it will be with few regrets

waterlogged, you're prolly on it and don't even know it

I hope within a few years my life can be somewhat in order ( ie no fire charge ect lol) I can get out on my own and do a lot of those type of things.
I've been trying to get my friends to sky dive with me for the past 2 years.. I never have done it but I won't do it unless i'm with a group of friends.. $300 bucks/ 8 hour class static jump in seattle Woo!

I'm a good skier, and I've attempted para-skiing. it's very hard because I don't know how to para glide

I've done the sky diving - full day class, static line as well. Very nice. I'd love to do it again. it was probably 18 years ago.

]mitch, if you can't get your friends to go make friends that will

i've lost many friends in paragliding accidents the attitudes of the younger pilots ruined gliding for me

i've got a buddy that calls me weekly, the first words i hear from him are "do you know what it's like to fall for a mile?" ......"no, but i know what it's like to fall for 2 "

i don't care who you are, it will change you life.
