I am looking at purchasing a new Dixie Chopper Excalibur 3366 mower this week. I am looking on opinions from anyone who has used one as far as cut quality and likes and dislikes. How does the deck handle wet grass? Just trying to get some info before I make my decision.

Had that same machine and I am glad I no longer have it.

Pro's Deck cuts very well however it will clump in the wet.

Con's

Will NOT hold a hill
Machine is too big and you cannot trim out with it.
Engine is underpowered
Thirsty
overall not all that productive in a full days time.

I've got a similar mower which is forsale right now, it's just the Classic 3360HP.

It will cut very fast and still leave a good cut. It is a pretty smooth ride, but mine has all the options available for it which some of them help to smooth out the ride (ie, suspension seat and front springer forks). It also is pretty easily accessable for servicing and repairs. The engine, when coupled with the 60" deck, seems to have plenty of power and is rated at 1.33 gph (which is about right). Overall its a pretty good mower.

I didn't like how it performed when paired with a trac-vac collection system. I haven't tried it on any major hill yet, but from some of the inclines I have tried it on, it felt stable when side-ways but not very stable going up and down a hill. Otherwise the only other thing I can think of right now is that I can't stand the dealer.

When I first got mine I thought it was a pos. But because I live by generac they looked at it and the govenor was set way to low. All adjusted and it cuts great wet or dry. True as a other poster stated, it does not do good on hills(side hilling). glad I have it. Once adjusted the engine is not underpowered.

Mine turned 4,000 with the blades on and it was underpowerd. The diffrence is the excalibur pull hard. I tested a bobcat 72" with the same engine and it was way stronger than the excalibur.

I am also looking at the Classic 2760. Any opinions on the classic?

I went ahead and purchased the Excalibur 3366 this morning. Now just need it to warm up a little so I can start playing with it!
