im sure im going to get some smart remarks on askin a question like this but i am not sure so maybe someone can help! I havent had any work in a while and today i had to do a leaf job an didn't have any 2 stroke fuel so i had to mix some and i know that the oil goes bad after its been opened so how long should that can of fuel be good? i should be mowing in about a month.

I wouldn't worry about the oil going bad, however the gas will get stale if there is no stabilizer in it. What kind of oil did you use? It's becoming more popular these days for stabilizer to be included in the oil bottles. If there is no stabilizer, gas can become stale within 30 days, although the engine may still run you may notice problems like it being hard to start or sluggish. If it has stabilizer, it can go for 6 mos. to a year.

I used up the last of what was mixed in November yesterday and have a 2.5gal can of mix I made up 2 weeks ago that I bought when I forgot to bring the bit I had left. At least I got another gas can. :)

I still have a half gallon of mix in my garage from November. And the mix is still good, as I use it in my leaf blower when I blow out my garage every couple weeks. But I did use the stihl oil that has the stabilizer already in it.

as long as you use stabilizer it will last a while

Straight fuel a good 6 months, mix fuel at least a year, that's assuming you
don't keep it out in the sun in the worst of 100 degree heat.
