Can't wait....got the 950 without the comfort and convenience, 60 inch 7-iron deck, mulch kit (not MOD) and the three bag bagger........i figure it will mow those big lawns a little faster than my X748 diesel tractor with the 7-iron.....hopefully haha....how many others have ordered a new jd???

she looks good slc....the one thing i wish is that they would give you a little more trim ability on the left side of the deck.....but im sure i'll get over it haha...um we didn't price only the tractor so i really couldn't tell you but i think it was probably around $10,000....i know someone on here got there z925 out the door for 9500.....

they did give us a little more 'trimablilty' by keeping the LF caster straight out instead of the usual outward from the frame.. see my pics, you will love this machine!

I am interested to see how these redesigned Deeres work out. Seems like I have heard great things about them.

Congrats!

I'm still deciding between the JD 950 or Ferris 3100Z errrr, both are very good dealers.

they look and drive great, I think the mulch on demand is a great feature.

I got to sit on a 950 yesterday at the local dealer, sweet machine for sure! Just can't justify a new mower yet. Wish I could though, it would be in my garage now!

i second that....i have john deere tractors and a zero turn and i wouldn't have anything else although i do like bob cats. My oppinion on ferris machines is why have so many extra parts that can go wrong, that add weight, and that aren't really that effective in mowing the grass. I can see where the smooth ride can be nice but get the deere with the suspension seat haha

I'm really excited to try the Mulch-on-Demand, I've heard many good things about it. It should be a nice feature on my mower.

i was really tempted to get the mod.....but the side discharge isn't quite as good as the regular deck and i want that for thick wet grass....like rougher properties and stuff.....but we have the mulch kit on a 7-iron and we love it...have demoed scags and bobcats and some other mowers and nothing....not even the scag really competes with the 7-iron in wet grass....

My friend had the 830 with the mod deck. He made them take it back. Didnt like the mower and really didnt like the deck. Went back to the old 757 and 7Iron deck and it cuts good. Said the mod deck clogged up and couldnt use it some times for the grass being stuck in it. Now this was last spring and it was real wet around home. Hope you have better luck than he did.

The mod deck is a great idea. But like the saying goes, "Jack of all trades master of none". Besides what happens when you hit something with a mod deck, its bound to happen if you mow commercial with it. Lots of parts under that deck to have to replace.

yeah and the 7-iron two is the master as far as i can tell....does anyone have the horizontal blower for the bagger that can tell me how it performs??

The verticle blower works great, sucks up just about anything. You'll love it.

Second that...one of the best vac systems I have used. Just make sure you have the horsepower to run it. They do take the power.

Yeah thats why we went with the 950 so we have enough to run the bagger. We used to have a walker and always loved how it bagged. we had never seen anything bag like the walker until last year when we got a 7-iron on a tractor. That thing literally would suck acorns off of lawns...but sometimes the grass would shoot out in front of the blower intake behind the front wheel of the tractor and im hoping with the steel blower on the 950 that is corrrected and we wont have blowout out from the front of the deck. Its not a big deal except for leaves then you can see a little line of chopped up leaves
