Do any of you use Amsoil in your mowers or the pre-mix formula? It is suppose to be so much better than conventional oil.
we use amsoil in the mower motors truck motors an we use the two cycle oil to ,amsoil is great stuff.
Also have the bypass filter on all the trucks.

I use Amsoil in all my 2 stroke equipment mixed at 80:1. Minimal smoke and plugs last a long time.

I use amsoil 2 cycle mix. I love it, works great.
(Just dont let the employees mix it at 32:1!)
Amsoil in everything we use, trucks down to trimmers.

I started using amsoi 2 cycle oil in my equiptment last year. All of it runs better, seems to have more power. Also, only one mix can in the truck now.:D

I've been using Amsoil 100:1 premix for like 8 years. I have never had any problems with it and a lot better performance out of the equipment. My one complaint with it is the new grey bottles. It is hard to see exactly how much you are adding since the bottle is almost the same color as the oil . Anyone else like the clear bottle better?

the reason that amsoil SYNTHETIC oil is so good is because the molecules in it are symmetrical. convential oil molecules are asymmetrical. easy to see why it is better. grasmo.

for trimmers and blowers do you use the same ratio, and how do you measure 80:1 ,ie.. how many ounces per gall. of gas

There are 128 ounces per gallon. 128 divided by 80 is 1.6 so you need 1.6 ounces per gallon of gas to achieve an 80:1 mix.
For mixing small amounts, like one gallon, I bought a set of stainless steel kitchen measures from the grocery store. 1 tablespoon is half an ounce. So three tablespoons and a tad more oil is used for one gallon of gas.
5 gallons of gas needs 8 ounces of oil for an 80:1 mix (128 ounces per gallon X 5 gallons = 640 ounces divided by 80 = 8 ounces). And conveniently, 8 ounces is one cup.

It's easy to measure. Just buy a case (12) of the 8 ounce bottles and dump one bottle into a 5 gallon gas can.

I spoke too soon. I sent Amsoil an email a few months back regarding the switch to the gray bottles. Someone replied and said my complaint made sense. I picked some up today...new clear bottle. Thanks Amsoil !
