View Full Version : Truck bed for a chassis cab

We had this bed removed from one of our trucks (2001 Chevy 2500) and had a custom rack body built for it.
We are asking $1200.00 or best offer for this bed. It has diamond plated floor and fiber glass sides and a tool rack welded on the side to hole shovels, picks, etc.
It is a heavy duty bed and will fit regular or dually trucks. It does not come with the hoist. All we did was take the bed off and reused the hoist on the new custom bed. This bed is 7.5 feet wide and 8.3 feet long. The bed is in very good condition and is located at Ferrara Industries in Norwalk, CT. They are the ones who removed the bed and made our new bed. They can install this bed onto your truck as well but I don't know know their pricing.
They give us good pricing and they know people will be going there to look at it. It is surrounded by pieces of their other jobs so please don't be discouraged by the mess in the pics. They have limited space and this needs to sell ASAP so any reasonable offer accepted.

How much is a hoist? Like 3k right? Any pics (like when it was on a truck), and roughly how much dose this weigh? Would it be easy to put it on a 09 Chevy Silverad0 3500HD SRW?

And how tall are the sides?

The sides do not come off. The bed is in pretty good shape. We used the truck mostly for mulch and plants. It holds about 5 yards of mulch. The hoist shouldn't be too expensive and Ferarra (where its at) can answer if it will fit the 09. They are installers and made our custom bed so i'm sure they can make the bed fit any truck. It needs to sell ASAP. I havent had a chance to put it on ebay. The sides are about 4' high.
Not sure what it weighs but it is a heavy duty bed. Anyone interested can call me on my cell phone at 203-943-8609

The pictures dont do this bed any justice. Jimmys shop was a mess at the time because he was moving things around from winter. They sell plows and sanders as well. I will see if he cleaned up any more and take new pictures tomorrow if he did. I will be in Norwalk tomorrow untill about 12pm if anyone wants to see it/buy it. You can then talk to jimmy on pricing to install it on your truck.

thnik this would look funny on a 6ft bed
03-26-2010, 07:05 PM
if this had removable sides i would have bought it last week.
03-27-2010, 10:29 PM
Don't think it will fit a 6' bed because it's an 8' bed and it dumps.

They way this has the door that opens as it does removable sides wouldn't work. You can take to Ferrara though, i'm sure they can alter it and cut all the sides off and make a custom door. They made our new bed for the truck this was on from scratch. It's basically a rack body bed they made us but they made it from the ground up to fit our truck since we don't have a dually we needed it to be light weight. Make me an offer and I'll meet you down there to go over anything about the bed. I might even be in Norwalk with the truck that this was on because I have to take my sander off it.
!!!!!!No reasonable offer refused!!!!!!

This will fit a pick up. Ferrara can remove your bed and you can try to sell it also.

Here is a side view. I took these pics a few days ago. $800 or best offer. This bed sell for $3500+ new. This is not a standard rack body or dump body. It's a heavy duty box. Was perfect for us at first but we out grew it.

I'll take pics of the new bed.
$800 is reasonable and will be accepted if you actually want to buy it. I have been getting offers and no one has to say they want to see it. This bed will fit any truck.
