Here's some pics of todays work. Taken with my new Sony digital camera.. Thanks to Vibe Ray's post I went out and treated myself for fathers day :)

It was overcast today and managed to get these done inbetween the rain drops..

Seven picture posts will follow this one... so hold off for a couple of minutes.

The two houses you see to left are cut as one property. I cut two across the street also.. one of which you'll see later.

Hope this works.. :)

Those are some serious cupcake lawns! Big, smooth, nice turf, couldn't ask for anything better!

Overcast days are great for photography!

What are you cutting them with?

Thanks guys for the kind words..

These lawns should be much more green right now but the heat and lack of rain have them looking a little dull.

Thomas.. C'mon man.. You don't remember what mower I have? A 60" Lazer... Cutting much better now with the correct pitch ;)

They are nice lawns to cut... but they are in no way smooth... especially the backs. My legs get a serious workout trying to keep my butt in the seat :)

Good Luck

Very nice work, what type of camera?

Those long straight runs are nice. How long are you on the properties per stop?

Jimbo.. I'm in Carroll

MOW ED.. Camera is a 2.0 megapixels Sony DSC-P31.

The two properties that are cut as one are 55,000 square feet each and take me about 2.25 hours. The other two across the street are smaller (~37,000 each) but there is more trimming.. They also take around 2.25 hours. So 4.5 hours total.

Very nice work. Do you do the landscaping too? Do you double mow each visit to get the double stripe or do you alternate every other week...one week diagonal, one week straight?

P. Nelson,

I'm not sure what you mean by.. "do the landscaping too?" I planted just about everything at one of the houses and some at another... Nothing at the other two. If you meant landscape maintenance.. just some minor trimming at one. I mulch 3 of the 4 (22 yards) and fertilize 3 of the 4 (4 times/year).

I do not double cut each week. I alternate directions but not every week either. It depends how much time I have that particular week as the diagonal cut takes a little longer.... I would say every third cut is diagonal.

That answers my question. Again, you do very nice work. Is that your rig parked along the road?

beautiful work. I get a headache just looking at how you got your stripes so straight over such a long distance.

I assume it takes a bit longer to mow so precisely. I hope they're paying you for it. I've never seen such wide open mowing space, either. wow.

Might want to water that little tree in the first picture..........she be droopin' a little!;)

Great looking lawns. I'd love to get my 72" Chopper on some like that just to see what they would look like.

We don't have them big open lawns like that down here either.

You must be feeling a little more "chipper" these days, glad to see it.

Keep up the good work.

just wondering why you would have a 72" mower and not have wide open space to use it on.

Brad,
To me that's butt ugly! But that's only because I'm a striping freak. It looks like you cut it with a F-D attachment? It appears to cut fairly smooth although it's sorta hard to tell the way it's cut. Good shade of green though.
TSG - you lawns are nice. We were having our first dry spell; our spring had twice the normal amount of rain, now we're having half the amount of rain now that it heats up. The grass was really beautiful in the spring now I'm upto 3" and 3.5" on most lawns even 4" on one (pretty high for around here but it's always green) just to keep them green. Our's is at 3.5" and is lovely. It stripes alot better at 3.5" than at 3", where we've had it until this past mowing. Finally got some rain so it's looking up. My mom doesn't like it this half inch higher but she can shove it. She says it doesn't look like it's been cut (does to me it went a week and a half before I mowed it:blush: ) and she says it's not cutting the clover, yea right I think she means to say dandelions. The clover never gets high enough to get snipped. We seem to be getting a clover attack right about now on my lawn. The others seem ok. Maybe tomorrow or soon I'll post a few of my lawn.
Keep 'em green!!
Eric

Bushboy

Telling someone their work is butt ugly?
Telling your mom to shove it?

Sure does make it hard for someone to respect future comments from you. Some things are better left unsaid.

Bushboy, What are you saying? Those yards are not butt ugly, they look very good in my opinon and to tell your mom to shove it, you need to grow up and look and what you are saying!!!!!!!
