How much HP for 48" deck?

I am mowing 3 acres. I can buy a Hustler Shortcut with very low hours for $5400 but it only has a 17hp Kawisaki engine. What is the suggested hp for a 48 inch deck? I sometimes let the grass get a little long and 17hp seems like it might bog down in deeper grass.

for just 3 acres ,and a homeowner,the 17 will be fine,it will have plenty of power for your yard.
