Well i couldn't sleep and had to do a design for a customer of mine, then couldn't sleep after doing that so i started to design a small city of houses for landscape designs.

What i want to do is take all my designs put them on the design software together then make city streets and city blocks and what not, with all the houses and landscape designs i did. This way my customer will have a 3d walk around through the small city. So they can see my designs and get ideas for what they want me to install for them.

Good idea?
or
Bad idea?

I am tired now and did not get a chance to work on the back yards yet. But when i am all said and done i should have around 100 to 150 houses for the 3d walk around. I will be adding more as time goes on.

What did you use to make that? Realtime Landscape Pro? It's interesting, what would be more is if the houses were different but I guess you're just trying to show them the possibilities with one house. It could work but I'd be more tempted to take your existing work and make a street out of it, that way you can actually tell your customer you've completed that and it becomes your portfolio.

Yes i also forgot to mention that.

I will be doing designs of the work i have already done. then have pictures as well on the site, beside the design so they can see the design and the finished product.

What my plan is for the different type of houses is to change the type of house with every street. like 14 houses back to back will be all the same. then the other sides of those streets will be different types of houses.

Yes i did use realtime landscape, i find it to be the best program for designs. and best priced. I mean $250 for the program, and i can us other palletes for the different types of interlock and retaining walls. All i have to do is pick the product and get the sample picture from the website and then i can use it in my design. Also being able to take a picture of the customers house and design with the picture in the program that is also a great option. I would suggest to anybody wanting to use a program for designing, to download the trial and then try it out. Read the instructions it will make using it alot easier.
