I am wondering what the green keys are for and when should I change the spreader setting behind the hopper? Also, how many times do you guys go over the lawn with fertilizer, just one swipe over everywhere or two or what?
any help is appreciated, thanks.

The quick answer is the bag of fert will say lesco spreader setting 14 (or something else). Then you find 14 on the green key and put in the spreader hole and adjust your opening.
That would give you one pass coverage unless the label says otherwise.

The correct answer is that you need to calibrate the spreader for the material based off the label data.

Search spreader calibration here or go to lesco's site to learn how to calibrate the spreader.

Good Luck and learn all the laws associated with spreading fert including how to become licensed.

You dont need the green things. Just open up the spreader all the way and have at it. Walk real slow and you will only need to go over the lawn one time. make sure all 3 holes are opened up.

I think one pass should cover it. I forgot to tell him abot the side deflector make sure it is down all of the time it saves fert. that away.

I am positive that is correct. It will get really green right before it burns up.
