Anybody know the preload or torque specs for the spindles,and has anyone tried different spindles or bearings on an encore deck.:(

I've tried to use part numbers in the catalogs to do it, but couldn't find a direct fit. One of the things I'm going to do in Louisville next month is compare these things. I think that some Scag spindles will fit. All they need to do is line up to the bolt holes. If I can't find one that will work, I'll buy 2 cast iron spindles and make what I need with a piece of 1/4" plate. I just don't understand why Encore uses aluminum housings on their spindles.

Thanks,I'll torque em to 80 ft.lbs.,I was going to try skag spindles also.

I was thinking aluminum dissipates heat better?

silverstreak part #82-309 is available as a steel replacement.

Thanks,I rebuilt the spindle and packed the inside with grease,seems to work allright,wintertime I might install grease fittings in all the spindles.
