have u guys ever left the shop, get to the job and then realize u left an important tool at the shop?

personally, even though i dont like to admit it, i left the keys to my z and my wb on my dresser in the house. the house is 18 miles from the job i'm at. i walked across the street to somebody's house who i'd never met in my life, and asked if i could borrow the keys out of their murray. the let me and i thanked them profusely.

i thought about mowin heir yard for free that day, but i didnt have the time.

l could just imagine some scrub reading this and seeing a murry on the trailer where my walker was, lol (knock on wood) Anyhow... name the tool w/ the exception of the mowers I've probably left it at the shop at least once :p

The regular equipment never leaves the trailer. Always with me. If I need hedge trimmers or chainsaw I will occassionally forget them.

I don't pull keys, but on rare occaison. But if I did loose one I would go to the JD dealer and by a JD key. That would fit the Walker too. If I forget some thing either I do without until tomorrow, or buy another one. I also live 18 miles from town.

Didn't leave any tools but left the entire days billing invoices on the desk. Trying to save a few dollars in stamps got shot. Realized this after cutting the first lawn and reaching for them in the truck.

Use a lanyard for your mower keys. You can get a kit from Trimmer Trap or buy the pieces from a hardware store. There's always something that needs a lanyard. But to your topic, an enclosed trailer is my goal because whenever you unload a trailer, it's possible to forget something.

John Deere, Walker, and I hate to admit it but so do MTD, Murray, and Crapsman. This was in the days of the older mowers, not sure if they all do it now or not.
I imagine the goal was cheap.

This spring I forgot my spreader twice on days I was pushing to do 15-20 aerations a day- always happened when I was starting a route with 1st stop 10 miles out. Both times the customer was there , I had to leave & come back. Rookie dumbsh-- was about the best I could say for myself.

I shoud have fired my -ss on the spot the first time.

So, I was wondering can you just spead the fert. by hand when you forget your spreader? you know just throw a little here and there?? Think this may have been covered before but I forgot the answer too.

Minney it sounds like your question is a good one for jimlewis or LAWNGODFATHER to anwser for us. :D
I live 18 miles from town so it is even worse than 10. But I imagine 10 miles in Denver is like about 60 in WY. Time wise any way.
How does the T Rex road destruction affect your day?

Thoes keys are pretty much universal. Think JD is about the only ones who use something else..
The Keys are simply there to turn the mower on & off & to protect kids from starting the thing...

Heck if the mower has a pull start all ya gotta do it pull the conector to the key off & short it out with a paper clip.
Power start ya short the 2 then one other...

Anyways back on topic. I've left w/o my water, route list, Load up w/ mulch & relize I forgot my wallet, Luckaly thay let me pay the next day. Numerous times I've gotten to a job with flat castors, no gas. Forgot my blower & hedge trimmers before...
Usually I notice before I get to the job...
Heck one time I pulled out & got 2 miles away before I relized I forgot to hook up the trailer.:dizzy:

I really need to wake up before I start working.
