how do you guys charge for the install of aluminum edging? Do you put on a certain percentage on top of the cost of materials, or do youcharge a flat rate for every Piece installed? I've always just estimated the time it would take my guys and charge that but, i would like other input from other people to see what they do. al in all i'm always looking for ways to improve. thanks

Steel, alum, or otherwise I charge for materials+markup+labor. I just add it all in to my final bill as I have never installed edging that wasn't part of a landscape installation or renovation.

Flat rate per linear foot. What is aluminum edging? Never seen that except at Home Depot!! I use galvanized 14 gauge steel safety roll top edging, or 4" stripstone set on edge.

I've used Aluminum a couple of times where the situation calls for it. There are companies out there that make it and better than HomeDepots. It is comparable to the steel col-met edging, but it doesn't rust or corrode, and is extruded with "ribbing" to give it added strength.
