Kohler 23 & 10-30 Synthetic oil

Is It ok to use a 10 - 30 Synthetic oil in my 23 hp Kohler-Lazer HP?
I can see no reference about using Synthetic oil in any fo the manuals.

The generally accepted practice of breaking an engine in with petroleum oil and then switching to a synthetic holds true with the Kohler engines as well. Just make sure you only use a multi-weight 10w-30 petroleum for the first oil change.

Personally I would wait until the 2nd or even 3rd oil change to switch over to a synthetic. I've gotten some feedback on the Kohlers running Mobil 1 and it's been positive.

All the information I've read demonstrates how synthetics do a better job of lubricating and can increase the life of the engine if something else doesn't cause a failure first.
