Yesterday morning in my sister's mailbox was a flyer. I brought it home so we could all enjoy it. Goes like this:
"XXXXXXX Lawn Service
We are two brothers setting out to earn some extra money over the summer. We would like to mow your lawn for you on a weekly basis. We are very reliable, trust worthy and hardworking!! We would prefer to use your equipment...but have equipment if required. Rates are very reasonable.
If you are interested, please contact
xxxxx
xxxx
xxxxxxx
xxxxxx"
I was thinking, do you think if I let them ride the Lazer they would pay me instead? hahaha:D

LMAO...be sure and show them where the brake pedal and clutch are on the Lazer.
At least they are making an effort and not sitting in front of a TV or computer. There is a kid set up by a busy street here in town selling hot dogs and lemonade. His Mother told me he made 84.00 in two days. He can't leave his station cause he doesnt want to miss a customer, so he has a Walkie talkie and his Grandmother has one in the house. If he runs low of supplies he radio's in and Grand Ma rushes out with supplies...LOL. Pretty industrious if you ask me.

ROFLMAO!!!!! My gosh that was funny!
Using other's equipment is going to take alot longer because of how they want you to use it and treat it etc. and if something breaks it could be your fault, you could have to pay for it, you're not familiar with it so it's going to take you longer and still not look as good, customer still has to maintain and repair it, you're going to have to get it out of their storage area and check the oil and fill it with gas before each usage and if it don't start you've got to mess around with it, etc. My first customer (neighbor) I used their mower and push mower until I got my own stuff then I used mine. Just alot easier and better cut, they can't gripe if you go fast, etc.
But at least they are trying to work.... They'll probably get more work than me because their flyer practically screams "LOWBALL SCRUBS!!!!" All over it LOL.
Thanks for the laughs 65Hoss!!!

Not saying it's the best way to do it but, they'll probably be busy. Hey, that's the way wall street does it!

At least their not out guzzling hootch, sparkin'up the doobies, and chasin' tail....
Ahhh, to be a 'kid' again! :D
Gotta give em credit..
To many kids just sit around and do nothing or worse are out doing drugs and stealing.
Probably make good employees some day. Or great owners.
Calling them low ball srubs is nonsense.
Other than some saftey issues I don't see anything wrong with it.
They will get all the work that no one wants anyway.

Boy, oh, boy! Good thing there were not internet cry-baby sites 50 years ago. My raking leaves for $0.50 an afternoon for Christmas money would have been headlines on LawnSite, if one of the great professionals(???) had found out my rates.
I have helped more kids starting out than I have professionals(???), because the professionals(???) all seem to know it all, even if they have only been around for a year, or a week. Have worked with kids and parents together so they are aware of the hazards and work involved. To me, it's great to see a kid hustling his own way.

Hey why not do both, what you mentioned and lawn care. Hank (Muskturfking) and I can keep up with that lifestyle. I'm sure more than just us two are doing it too!
Now, not saying it's a good thing but many more before us have done it and survived right? LOL

Eric, arent you the same kid talking about morals and no sex untill marriage a couple weeks ago? But smoking doobies is ok? Im a little confused:confused:
Either your a puritan or your not!
BushHogBoy:
Yep, leading the 'freewheeling' lifestyle and surviving it are possible...I am living proof of that. :)
I was a "wild, reckless teen" of the 1970's...back when herpes was dreaded, AIDS was unheard of, and Cocaine and Reefer was the soup du jour. Practically ANYTHING that was physically pleasurable was "cool" and acceptable. "If it feels good...DO IT!" WAS the slogan of my teen years....and I gave it all a whirl...boy, was I ever 'cool'...
But, now that I look back (and sometimes with nostalgic fondness, I might add) I truely wish that I had those 20+ years to do all over again. Not only would I be way better of financially (countless bottles down the urinal and bags up in smoke) but I would also not have the regrets I feel towards my skirt-chasing behaviour. Sometimes I want to apologize to all of them (the young ladies) for having used them for my selfish pleasures. Some of them turned out badly and I wonder if maybe I had contributed to this. I won't even try to explain how all of this has effected the development of my married life...the questions and comparisons can be brutal. :(
Once your head clears from the fog of intoxicants, your hormonal urges become controlable, and you have buried a few of your other 'wild' friends, you really start to think about what you have done with what little bit of precious time you have been granted on this mortal plain.
Yeah, I would do it all differently this time around...and be WAY ahead of the game at 41 than I am now. Now I'm busting my chops in hyperdrive mode playing 'catch-up' with myself because of all the time, energy, and money I wasted "living the high life".
But, such is life..."Live (hopefully) and learn".
God was/is good to me and allowed me to survive my recklessness/selfishness to have another chance at this precious game called "Life". :D

Just curious, what kind of Lazer has a "brake pedal and clutch"??
Was this before hydros?
