weed eater muffler

Hi. I'm working on a craphsmen weed eater wich is all clogged up. The only thing I can't figure out is how to remove the muffler so I can clean the gunk out of it and the housing. Do I have to unscrew the back of the engine? Because I can't seem to pull it from the front where it is.

all are different. some are held on by springs. some by 2 screws. either way remove just enough **** that's in you way to remove the muffler. i can't tell you on your unit just what to remove so you'll just have to go for it.
