Finally figured out how to reduce a 742KB digital camera picture to one that lawnsite can accept. Here's some pics of my 7' by 16' trailer that I've been working on to get to where I want it.

i noticed thats a really steep ramp, i have to use my man power to push down and bring up my deck on my 36" metro to keep from scraping the bottom of the deck on my ramp, and its not as steep as that!

That ramp angle does look really steep , but it's probably cause of the angle of the pic and the way you reduced it in size probably skewed off the pic to look like that , I'm hoping ?

The Trailer looks really great man, nice job.. But the deck looks entirely tooo nice to be for a landscape trailer.. Looks like it belongs in the bed of a 50's chevy pick up at a car show...

Best of luck with it... make sure you set up a breakaway kit and electric brakes of some sort.... According to Federal law as I was told, any trailer with a GVW of over 3000 lbs is required to have a brake system and breakaway kit as well.... Could not tell if you had it from the pics, but that must have a GVW over 3K #'s judging from the size and design of the tongue...

The ramp isn't that steep, as you were right the picture above was skewed from resizing, etc. Here's a better view of the ramp. Thanks for all the positive comments on the trailer. It was in ok shape when I got it, but so far I spent $170 in wood, probably $30 in additional hardware gizmos, $48 for the 2 ez-gate helpers, $20 on new lights/wire and that's it so far. Oh Yeah, $15 on 4 cans of spray paint and $10 on deck sealer. So I did put probably close to $300 into it, but man, it looks great. <G>

It does have what seems to be hydralic brakes on 1 of the 2 axles, my next thing to do is to get 1 of the axels that is bent, fixed and to have the brake system checked and up to snuff. Then I'll be all set.

BTW, the metal square plates on the floor of the trailer, up near the nose are anchor points for belts to secure my mowers down. I measured them out and with racheting belts, my mowers won't be moving more than a millimeter. <G>

You guys still have green grass out east?????? :dizzy: :dizzy: :p
Nice trailer pics, that tailgate lift system must be a nice thing after along days work probably alot lighter to lift the gate. That trailer though almost looks like an old snowmobile trailer? But maybe I'm wrong.

Wow, this was an older thread..

Ok, answers:

The wheels are 20.5*10-8 *IF* I remember correctly..

No, the picture is from JUNE, there is no green growing grass anywhere around here. It's either covered in snow, 1/2 melted snow, or very light in color grass and lots of water, mud.

The Gate lift system is terrific. I put it on the passenger side first, it worked so well, but I knew it could be better, I went out and put it on the driver side.. Not much $$ at all, and all parts were bought at the local Home Depot, no problem.

The springs are garage door opener springs at Home Depot, the strongest, heaviest ones they carry. I forget their rating, but get the biggest ones you can.. And go for both sides of the trailer if you can so the rear gate doesn't get tweaker or twisted out of shape over time..

This way it's lifted evenly and very easy..

I've heard that the trailer MAY well be a used Snowmobile trailer before..

Any questions, let me know here or a private message. No problem, I'll help out whoever I can.

Set a record yesterday at 65 degrees! There are only 2 other days in the history of January that were warmer.

Expert Lawns, I was in Kalkaska in the morning then drove to Jackson then to Detroit. It was warmer in Kalkaska that it was in Detroit, but it sure got cold overnight in Detroit last night. I just got home a couple of hours ago. We have about 6" of snow here. I'll be back in Southfield on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday then Ann Arbor on Thursday I hope it's warm again.

I love the gate spring set up!!
I am going to do the same thing on mine for the spring.
What if the whole set-up was on the outer sides of the trailor walls. Could this prevent damage to it when loading and unloading equipment (just in case your a drive like me :D )

Built that same lift set-up 5 years ago for my old trailer. Except I mounted pullies on a verticle piece of 2x2" tubing. Ran the verticle cable inside the tube. Used metal conduit for floor spring.
