when working on an f series carb, the butterfly valve slides between a slot on the airvane shaft, just pull it with pliers from the Backside of the carb.

It's always good to inform others to prevent things like this, of course I've made even worse mistakes working on old Briggs motors:realmad: (when I make a mistake I get really mad!)

Ouchees. Now I gotcha. I've broken gov. springs, linkages, etc. many times before.;)
