Man did I go from one Extreme to the other.
From praying for Rain......To wondering when
it's gonna quit?
It has been raining here for 2 solid days...and
more still in the forecast.
Now I need 2 play catch up........ Oh well I guess
it's better than a drought?

I noticed the rain in FL on the National radar. We had an all day rain Friday also, over three inches, which is unusual for this area.
As difficult as heavy rain is, I prefer it to drought as well.

we need some of that rain here in SE va. its raining 100 miles to the south, but not here. we havent had much rain, if any in some areas in the last 4 weeks. everything is turning brown and drying up. when it does rain, it will probably rain for a week straight.

We made hay on my farm last week we normally get about 50 4'by 5' round bales we got 10. No one has gotten good cuts of tall fescue this year just to darn dry.

Here in most of the west we are in YEAR, not week number 3 of one of the worst droughts in history. I just saw in the paper that it could become the worst in history with out too much more trying. Around here if you don't irrigate your lawn it doesn't grow to start with, and then add a year like this one............... Normally we get 7 or 8 inches of precip by this time of the year. This year about 3. So next year all the resivoirs that made it thru this year, will really be low. I am thinking that this fall would be a good time to get out of lawn care. Next year there won't be any water at all unless we get some serious snow pack in the mountains this winter.

Its rained every 2 or 3 days here since April and the lawns are growing at 6+ per week. Some that have been N bombed are like hay fields.
Now its gonna be in the upper 80's to low 90's today and high humidity.
About 60 miles south and west of me they got 9" in some areas. Needless to say it didn't soak in.

I think we are up to 7 or 8 consecutive days of rain. I was rained out Friday and rained out today, whew. Rain is forecast every day this week. I have never seen anything like this. My tuesday schedule has homes on hills, if I finish todays route tomorrow, I plan to cause an avalanche or mud slide, unfortunately I will have to skip the hill lots, and do not see when they can be made up.
If the weather was perfect I'd gripe about the bugs:)

If I can remember (it's been a long time) I believe rain are those little drops of H2O that fall out of the sky, land on the ground and make the grass grow. This is getting pitifull. I'm learning that you can still stripe brown grass. I'm going to start eating popcorn so I can tell where I've been mowing. What little rain we do get just bounces off the ground like bouncy balls in a parking lot.

I'm currently residing in Winter Park, Florida (just east of Orlando) ... it's been raining here for two weeks ... I could probably count on one hand the number of times it rained here since January ... but now it's starting ... it downpours nonstop .. :) .. and talk about thunderstorms .. these things are killer!! (I LOVE it!!) ... we had a small flood on our back porch (well .. it isn't that large of a porch, but it was a pretty big pond on it!!) ... I can go in somewhere and it will have dried a bit .. walk about 2 minutes later and it's completely pouring again! hehehe ...

I swear I will never complain about too much rain again if we get 2 or more inches this week! It has been way too hot and way too dry here. If not irrigated or mucho shado then the lawn is brown. I now love those lawns that are all weeds. At least I have something to mow.

If you dont have irragation on your grass than, it looks like someone has sprayed the city with round-up from a crop duster.:D
