Amateur Hour - Making Stripes! :-)

This is my first season with a commercial mower. The grass is far from lush but it's just now starting to grow a little. It's enough to make some mild stripes in the yard though. When it really gets growing well in April it'll be sooo easy to get those nice stripes. I'm not the best at keeping the lines straight, but there are a lot of slopes, bumps and hills around here so I do the best I can.

This is in my in-law's front yard and my yard is in the distance. I mowed their yard too. Mowed at 2.75"

Yeah, but this part could be a problem:

Depending on the in-laws, that could be way too close.

The in-law's are usually fine. Sure, they're a little annoying now and then, but overall it works out well and we get along. Besides, I like the land/neighborhood and I'm sure they'd pass on their piece to us in the future, like their parents did.

As far as changing directions now and then, that might be hard. The way the land lays and all the obstacles, going up and down the yard instead of side to side might be challenging to say the least. Some parts of the yard are a little steep and I'm afraid I'll lose traction going down certain parts. I'll do some experimenting and see what I can work out. Diagonal, etc.
