View Full Version : pre-emerging with ride-ons

I've always used a skid sprayer with 300' of hose. I'm looking into buying a ride-on sprayer/spreader. What are you using for your pre-emergent. I've noticed that most of the sprayers spray at less than 1gal/1000 sq. ft. I've been using barricade but have also used Lesco Pre-M and both require 2 gals/1000 sq. ft.

They may require 2 gallons/1000 but-- my PG magnum at 1 qt/1000 has given me excellent results for years using aqua-cap spring and simazine in the fall. Heck I only use 1.4 gallons of water dragging a hose per 1000. And with pendi approved for agriculture this year I dought very seriously we will see any co-op using 2 gallons per 1000 more like 20 gallons an acre or less.

You couldn't pay me to put that junk in my expensive ride on.
Just use a granular combo product and be done with it.
Sheesh why people make this harder than it is is beyond me.

We spread granular crabgrass preventer on our dry fert (evade or dimension). We put w/c only (4-way) thru nozzles of ride on or 2gls/m with our tank trucks.
