The differences between the Ford suspensions

I own a 03 F-450 and a 06 F-450 both same wheel base same reg cab. I took the 03 for a drive today holy crap the first thing I noticed right away the turning radius I have been driving the 06 since I bought it couple months ago. The second thing I noticed the ride the 03 rides and handles like a tank.

When Ford came out with the radius arm and coil front suspension on 4x4 250/350 and 450/550 2wd/4wd I thought its not going to be strong enough.

I'am going to say that I prefer the new coil spring suspension for one it rides and handles better and 2 the improved turning radius.

My big thing is the turning radius and today driving the 03 I tried turning in places where the 06 isn't a problem the 03 is WTF.

Just my opinion on the improvements of the Ford suspension.

There is a 10 foot turning radius difference between the 03 and 06 F-450s I have that is a huge difference :dizzy:

Add oversize tires into the picture and try parking around Orlando. I have an 06 but my old company truck was an 04 I feel your pain.

I haven't had my truck on a tight job site yet but I think the 06 will do better than the 03.

They turn sharper but in the soft stuff they turn so sharp the truck still goes straight. Also, on a wet road from a stop if you cut the wheel all the way to make a U-turn you will continue to go straight instead of turning.

Most jobsites the access roads are hard they are gravel over blasted or solid rock. I usually try stay out of areas where it is soft the 450/550 trucks sink quickly.

Where I have problems is when the driveways are narrow and are curved the 03 you would have to pull ahead and back up and repeat backing down a driveway.
