can a blower and or trimmer run decent past the epa ratings(50 hrs)with proper maintenance? or are those numbers(50 125 300 hrs.) meaningless?

QUIT BUY CHEAP TRIMMER OR BLOWER.:hammerhead:
They only rated 50 hours.
Spend couple hundred dollars you will get 100-300 hours out it.
Stihl redmax echo and lot name I forgot.

The EPA hour rating is in theory how long the unit is suppose to run and still meet emmissions specs. I own units, and maintain units that have 1000's of hours run time--do they meet emmissions specs, almost certainly not--but still run great.
Certainly there is a quality difference in home owner vs commercial units, but given good care (clean fuel mixed properly), they all can easily run more hours than EPA rating.

I agree with others here. I have trimmers that I've been using since before I have my current lineup of mowers. I have one edger that's 10 years old and still starts on the first pull. My mower with the most hours is my Dixie and it's moving in on 1,100 hours. Buy quality equipment from reputable dealers (Home Depot, Lowes are not included), maintain them and always use mid range gas with top quality oil and they'll last a good long time.
