I'm looking for an easy way to keep my mulch around my trees. My mower is super powerful and in 2 months the mulch is just about gone around my trees.
I saw this and am wondering if anyone has used it?

Jason,
I use the 6" green Col-Met steel edging around all of my trees. IF you don't like the green, it comes in brown, black, and grey I believe.

I cut a 6" deep edge with a bed edger around all trees. It creates a V shaped ditch. Very natural looking and very popular. You can use a shovel if you have no bed edger.
It will keep all mulch in. Just run mower about 1" from it then edge with the trimmer like you would a sidewalk or drive. Keeps a sharp defined edge and really looks GOOD!!!
You see this around most high end properties...

It is called the raised bed effect. Was highly popular in Tennessee back in the late 80's
In Arkansas--around our area, raised beds aren't desired anymore.

I did this at my house in front over Easter;
those stones look like crap. edge like turfgeek said looks high end and is easy to trim around + grass wont creep into bed, im sure grass will grow into the stomes over time

Stone is lowballer crap. Unless it is used exactly right. I would just do like the others say and put a ring around the tree and some steel edging. Try putting the mulch a little bit thicker too.
