Two simple questions about walk behinds

I am trying to determine the best walk-behind mower
configuration I should buy to mow my acre lawn.

1. Do I need a hydro transmission?

2. Do I need a floating deck?

I have a drainage ditch and slight hills on my property.
The last fixed deck ztr I owned did cut into the lawn
badly when I turned on the slight hills. The floating deck
rider I had before that never had this issue.

If there is any chance of getting the belts wet don't buy the belt drive if those get wet you will have to push that machine. Fixed deck isn't bad in that size it may scalp in area but not from turning. A fixed deck will give a nicer cut than a floating deck IMO.
