Your set-up looks great.
How do you keep it so neat?! ;)

Dennis,

I cleaned it up for the pics... :p Normally it's a disaster ;)

I bought this trailer from Sun Coast Trailers in Tamarac Florida..

for the info Tom! Sun Coast, huh?
Will have to investigate a little. Web-site?
Have a place here in Lakeland that has some decent trailers. As per most sales, promotions, when I call about one they had advertised in the paper it's always ,"We JUST sold the last one earlier today,BUT we have another one thats better (for about a grand more!)
My 18 ft.er'(open) is nice but I'm having some problems with the rain and the ZTR. Got it covered most of the time but the moisture is raising havoc with the motor. (23 Kaw.)
Figured it's time to start shopping!:D
Your set-up sure is nice.
My trailer at the end of the day is :dizzy: !!

I just showed the pics to my wife...I know what she's thinking now..."time to clean out the garage!"

Good show, Tom! :)

I am jealous. You posted thos pics for that very reason, didn't you? :D

I am coming to hate my open air trailer more and more. If I sell the maint part of my biz and start doing more sprinkler repairs I may very well buy a small enclosed for parts.

How do you like the Dodge? Is that a 1500 or 2500? I have a 1999 1500 4x4 and it seems to struggle a little pulling the trailer. Later

No Metro.. lawnkid

MOW ED.. Ther have been times I wished there was a toilet in there

lasher66.. '95 Dodge 1500.. 121,000 miles. She's tired and strains (on hills) a little but for the most part no problems. I may step up to a 2500 (Dodge again) next season.

Very nice setup TSG, but looks as you say alittle crowded. I like the idea of a closed but it's not the same as an open. Well you could keep tools in there and all w/o theft problems and weather etc. that's nice, and you can hang stuff all over it inside, its just that i'm a tad claustrophobic when it comes to enclosed trailers. I value the space to manuever around in/on my 6x12 open trailer. You can be on the outside reaching in, or something like that, easily empty a bagger onto trailer from down on the ground, you can haul mulch with it, etc, and I don't mind if my equipment gets wet, but if I haul my nice and shiny '64 Bush Hog garden tractor (now a puller GT) anywhere, a enclosed would be nice to keep bugs, tar, and rocks other flying objects OFF of it's beautiful finish which I worked very hard to put on this time last year;)

Tom, coulden't help but notice your sprayer tank. What do you spray through it? I got my applicators license 2 years ago after being stopped by the dept of ag. for spraying without a license. Also recognize the area you took the pics in!

Primegreen- do you operate in the same area as TSG then? That's cool. Have you met in person before? I think it's cool that people can meet up on the internet and then realize they see each other all the time. That's so cool! What a coincidence!

LAWNS AND MOWER

Nice setup Tom. I've preached numerous times on this site that if you are solo, there's no reason why you shouldn't be operating out of a van. I have in my van a Toro 44in, Toro Personal Pace, weedeaters (2) blower, hedge trimmers, frequently used tools (edging shovel, rakes, etc..), golf clubs, and everything else that goes along being a solo lco. Benefits of a van are obvious. Stuff stays dry, don't have to worry about stuff getting swiped while you're eating lunch, can get in and out of tight spots versus a trailer.

LAWNS AND MOWER

PS Tom, it must smell really good in your trailer after running over a couple piles of doo-doo!!!

I'm in the same area as PrimeGreen. In fact I bought my trailer from him!

I have a 6X12 enclosed trailer also. Mine is made by pace and the interior walls are that real thin luon ( I don't have a clue how to spell that word). It looks like your interior walls are ply-wood. Are they 1/4", 1/2" or what? Did you do any reinforcing on the back side to make sure that the hooks do not pull loose from the wall?
I am going to build shelves in mine this weekend to give me more space and easier access. Any advise would be greatly apreciated.
Thanks,
Charles

Charles,

The trailer was made to order with the plywood (I think 3/4 inch), trimmer/blower racks and shelves. I believe all the screws (for the trimmer and blower racks) are actually biting into the steel (iron?) frame of the trailer. The other (Home Depot) hooks are secured to the plywood.. they haven't come loose yet (4 years).

Wish I could've been more help...

Thanks

Cut 2 Please. I too have a 6x12 pace and finally got around to putting shelves up front. I went to HD and got the white wire shelving. Pretty easy to install. I ran three adjustable tracks, had to stack 2-2x4 down the middle so I wouldn't have to bend or cut to fit, along the front and then added three shelves, -pretty easy and managable. Took me and a buddy less than an hour. Also if you're gonna put racks on the side I'd recommend fastening it to the metal stringers instead of trusting the 1/2 plywood.

Nice set -up Tom....take a look at the 2500 diesel....you won't be sorry!! We also have a '94 2500 gas w / 120,000 she is tired as well , now that truck is used for my spray rig and plowing. We picked up a 2000 diesel coming off a lease this spring......We will never buy gas again.

hey tom, great set up! :D

two questions:

1) i didn't see a hand held blower. do you have one?

2) how the hell do you climb off that mower and squeeze out the door? looks a bit cramped.

but i do admitt to being a bit jealous. you have a great set up (and use the same mower and trimmers as me)

I built a shelf across my front wall this weekend. I will try and get some pics this week and post them. I took out that thin good for nothing material that was there for my front wall. I replaced with 3/4" ply wood. I then put my shelf in. It works great. I have to back my "Z" in so that the engine is under the shelf. Then I back in my WB so that the handle bars are over the front of the "Z". It is tight but works great. The smaller trailer is easier to manuver around neighborhoods and dead end streets. Especially when you pull with an F350 crew cab dually 4X4 like I do. That thing is a night mare to turn around by itself. I had a 1999 2500 Dodge diesel before my Ford. I liked it alot. There are times I wish that I had it back. The only thing is the Ford is more roomy for me and being that I am 6'2" I need all the leg room I can get.

spomerhome,

I like the Lazer.. Doesn't clump unless the grass is super wet. I side discharge.

jrblawncare,

I'll take a look at the diesel, thanks.. but not 'til the spring of '03.

Expert Lawns,

No handheld blower.. no need for one really. I exit through the rear.. stepping onto the seat, then onto the left rear tire and out... no biggie really. :)

Cut 2 Please,

Glad it worked out well for you!
