I have one wheel on my trailer that will not hold it's dust cap, it's a 1 31/32 " size. I have hammered 3 of them on tight and by the end of the day it's gone.

Any hints on keeping a dust cap in place?

I had the same problem years back, it may be that there is too much grease?

No, there is just enough to cover the bearings.

What did you do to fix it?

I don't share your misery because I use bearing buddies.

I've been running into this problem more and more . Locite
retaining compound works. Might need a little heat to remove it. It take up about .015 when dry. You can also try putting dimples in the hub with a center punch to raise some of the material for a better bite.

That is the solution......or add a small bead of jbweld and put a pin hole in
them for pressure relief. The covers on z turn need hole to keep grease from blowing them out.
