Overseed to eradicate fescue?

Would overseeding a lawn with a slit/overseeder with premium KBG eventually overtake/eradicate fescue that was planted in a sun/shade mixuture. The fescue seems to be lighter in color than the surrounding Blue/RYE.

Thoughts?
