? about bermuda in my yard

I live in south east texas just east of houston and I've always admired the bermuda grass and the way you could get it to look. I am a baseball coach at a high school and we have tiff 419 bermuda on our baseball field and it looks great. Now the question comes in could I make this happen in my yard? Every where around me has St. Augustine and I am worried that if I resod with with bermuda my neigbors yards will take over my bermuda. Is this correct? Could I make it work or would it just be to much trouble?

As long as it is not a shady area, the bermuda should take over the St. Augustine. Bermuda needs lots of fertilizer and you need a reel mower to cut it short. Bermuda also needs less water than St. Aug, so you could cut back the water once the bermuda is established and that should also keep the St. Aug away.
