I recently purchased a used John Deere 220B walk behind greens mower to cut my bent grass lawn. It seems to work well except for the speed the mower travels.

When I engage the throttle in it's lowest setting, the mower still takes off like a bat out of hell.

Obviously, this makes it hard to cut grass evenly @ .5". My lawn is fairly level, but there are some uneven terrain.

I've looked through the on-line manual and cannot find anything. Is there an adjustment I might be missing?

Thanks,

Chris

go to the drive belt section of the manual and make sure all of you adjustments are correct. Most greens mowers are some what fast movers on ground speed.
