Okay so i have an estimate to do for a paver patio but the customer wants a concrete base since the patio thats there that i will be extending from already has a concrete base. and also he is adventually going to put a pizza oven and outdoor fireplace.

so what i need to know is whats the best way to do a concrete base, do bags or have someone come in and do it, just sub contract it out to someone. i dont know.

also im icpi certified but dont know a thing about concrete.

excavate area and allow for 3-4" gravel base, 4"concrete + 1" sand (bedding) and thickness of paver, form it up Thickness of paver. pour your concrete and screed it with a 2x4, should be bullfloated but not necessary, allow 24 hrs to set-up , install sand make sure you allow for positive water flow. install pavers, tamp, sweep joints. i would also dowel rebar to existing pad and use 10 gauge wire mesh

The plan's not to put the pizza oven and fireplace on top of the new patio, is it?

its going to be an add on later in the summer, but it will be off the new extensionim going to put in

oh ya, is the gravel base compacted?
