my uncle just traded his 800 for one. He loves it. He always talked about how bad the response was on the 800 compared to the 5 million 700 series he has had. He said they fixed it on the 900 and much better.

I got my 925 at the beginning of the month and it is easily the best mower I have used yet. The MOD deck is awesome, the bagger is awesome, hillside performance is awesome, just a great mower all around. If I had the money, I would buy one for everyday of the week.

I just wrote a review of my 925 about a week ago.... http://www.lawnsite.com/showthread.php?t=314067 ....that should hopefully help you.

It died? What died? The engine? That would be a Kawasaki problem. And you think the JD was a rough ride when you have a Scag? LOL

I have an 800 series and the reponse is super quick. A little to quick at times. The 900 series is a slower and smooth responce. Both series cut the same. Same engines, same deck . 900's hydro's and weight distrbution are different.

We run about 6 of them. No complaints and most say its the best mower they've run.

Just had my 950 delivered Saturday 5/1 while I was at work and by the time I got home my brother in law had already mowed my entire 10 acres in under 2 hours. He said the mower was too much fun to use and when I got home I told him thanks for saving some for me to do. lol

I got a chance to take it out to mow 2.5 acres and this is by far the best ZTR mower I have ever used.
Hill performance is outstanding. Tons of power, smooth (not jerky like my Dixie Chopper), precise as can be (put it on my 6.5x10 trailer with less than 1" on each side and was easy to load/unload), fast (boy is it fast!), cuts great, ergonomics is nice, comfortable (seat is soft compared to my JD 2305 tractor), and looks great.

The downside is that it drinks the gas, and my brother in law loves it enough to come over and use it before I get a chance to on my own property. :)

I test drove a 60" 925 Saturday. Lots of power, smooth controls, good on the hills, thick comfortable seat and great ergonomics. I liked it so much, I brought it home with me!!!

So you decided on the JD instead of the Ferris like me. Congrats and enjoy the JD, its a awesome machine. :cool2:

Yeah. I never test drove the Ferris. Even though many think it rides smoother than the JD, I have read and heard many reliable sources say that the machine itself can be hit or miss.

I am partial to JD. Other than the lack of a suspension, I don't think the 900 series can be beat by anyone. Some may be just as good, but I don't think any can be better. Time will tell
